Superb! Great finesse and care not cutting any corners - I have several Alden's and have worried about who to trust them to - You're my man when the time comes. Best of luck!
Hey. Shoe nerd here. I remember you from Peabody videos. Nice to see you doing your own thing with your brother. I almost never leave comments. I just wanted to encourage you by saying that I think you are among the best, afaik. In fact, Bedo has nothing on you. If I need work I will keep you in mind.
A new pair of Alden shell cordovan loafers costs about $800, so it's well worth it to have them restored/reconditioned. I bought a pair of Alden shell cordovan oxfords when I was 21 for $200 and wore them until I was 45. I tried having them restored but the leather had torn. So, I bought my second pair for $500 which I'm still wearing at age 64.
Was that acetone you used to clean those off? I got a pair of vintage shell Florsheims in amazing condition, but they have some really stubborn old polish on them and I've been afraid to resort to acetone.
Let us know what you think about the video!

They look better than brand new. That shank looked huge in that shoe.🙂
