When my horse got sick after eating lantana,I kept in in our backyard while the vet came and gave him injections.He had to eat a whole box of brown sugar every day for a week to counteract the poison in his liver.That first night I went out to check on him and he was curled up laying on the grass,and didn't feel well at all. So I sat down by him and he put his head in my lap for pets! I never felt so much love and trust in my life! P.s.After a couple of days of the brown sugar(and loving it!) He really got pretty sick of it and I was grinding it slowly on his front teeth to get him to eat it at all!
animals are amazing and feel lot more than some people think. Be good to them people, love they or stay away.!
My sister had lantana in her flower bed...her dog kept nibbling it & he would throw-up. When she realized what caused it she pulled it up. Amazing that brown sugar can cure a horse, but what sugar can do to humans...I hope your horse is ok now.

@@jjradV In a world run by rational laws, vegan would, of course, be MENTALLY ideal. But humans were designed, biologically, physically, by nature, to function best as omnivores.
We had no say in this. We don't really, now.
I have found there is no way to rewire this. I don't function well, physically, on solely vegetable protein. This is particularly noticeable because I work out, where the quality of any movement is judgeable..
Possibly because it's too starchy...cooking things like beans, reduces them to that. And cheese and eggs, don't seem to fill that gap...rather like a car on cheap gas. It's quite noticable.
In nature, for omnivores and carnivores, the acquisition of animal protein has been, since the beginning of life itself on this planet, a thing of gross brutality (to a modern man). Until recently, man was often the prey, as well. (Think the Everglades, alligators, no gun. Or the African jungle, etc.)
Is this FAIR??? NO. But then, modern man INVENTED this concept. NATURE ISN'T FAIR. Life itself, is RARELY fair. Try appealing to a higher power...THAT HASN'T WORKED SO FAR. Nature is what it is.
The fact IS, meat eating animals can only AFFORD to be affectionate, because we feed them. THAT survival need is satisfied. And because we put them in situations where they believe WE are in control of their survival. Whether they fear or love us for it, depends totally on OUR behavior.
For a dog homeless and starving in a human world, even their anger or viciousness, is a result of fear, not really attack.They KNOW they are actually powerless.
That same dog, raised in the wild, part of a pack, can bring down a much larger animal. But while a wolf is NOT tameable, long term, domesticated animals have been bred, over 1,000's of years, to be less naturally feral.(Helped along by neutering them.)
Think a milk cow, handled daily, versus a beef steer. One docile, one NOT. Still, you don't want to annoy either. Make the milk cow or steer into a pet, it's a different story.
Fortunately, humans don't eat their protein ALIVE, ripping it apart while still kicking. Think the ocean. Watch Animal Planet...Could we make sure man does this even MORE humanely ??? YES, OF COURSE.
I, personally, rarely eat red meat, keeping ANY animal fat to a minimum. But then, my cholesterol, arteries, are great. Something we ALL should consider, when grazing the meat counter. Some, though, is actually necessary, as any dietitian will tell you.
So, do I have mixed emotions about all this??? Yes. DID I, DO I, have anything to say in the matter?? Sadly, no. Am I going to beat myself up over this..??.NO. The sky IS blue. The grass is green...

And NO, a vegan diet has been proven to be very incomplete. We are not cows, or rabbits. Our biology is different. Try living on straw. Or pellets. I originally meant to say VEGETARIAN. Didn't work either.

As we animal lovers know their love is unconditional. Before our last cat passed away she gave all her strength to lift her head and give us kisses. 10 minutes later she was gone.

Yes I am a very compassionate person that loves animals with all my heart. And let it be known that I do not approve of factory farms. Nor do I approve of abusing animals. And I especially wouldn’t pay anyone to abuse and or murder any animals on my behalf. As I was once a child who was a witness to my (P.O.S.) father’s abuse and murder of I and my siblings former pets. By twisting their necks till they broke and then died. In fact that S.O.B. made me sit in our garage and watch him. While he murdered and slaughtered a deer right in front of me. When we lived in Utah and I was only 5 or 6 years old. I will never be able to get those images out of my head and am scarred for the rest of my life because of it. I’m a strong advocate for animals and will and have even called the police when I witness any animal abuse. Especially against those heartless parasites who leave their pet in a car on a hot summer day. It infuriates me the level of depravity that some individuals have. To not love and care for animals like they deserve to be. And anyone who abuses and or murders an innocent animal should all rot in Hell! Because it’s only obvious our justice system (Pussy’s) are not going to enforce any law to protect animals from hate and harm of any kind.

Yes. A friend had one he named Tom. Tom also greeted visitors and expected such attention back. And never wear sandals or flip flops because Tom would step right on the feet and get close ! Tom lived to be quite old since he was a pet and never anyone's Thanksgiving dinner. He was really a sweetheart and would keep anyone company.

@@sylvia106 I haven't eaten turkey in years. Aside from not wanting to hurt them, turkey gets very dry real quickly, hard to swallow or get any taste.
We had two turkeys, Xmas and Easter. Christmas passed by and we couldn't have Xmas for dinner. We gave them both to friends. Not long after their dog killed them. Still regret doing that We should have kept them.
Human error, not your fault. Dogs usually aren't that way. Just like not all cats kill chickens as I have mixed them before.

Some animals eat meat to survive. You can't control that. Do you want to suffer from starvation because of your ignorance? Do want loved ones and animals suffer from not eating enough protein because you don't like death? Life is not fair. But you need to choose the lesser of the two evils.
