    Thanks for great video - full of interest. I've long been puzzled about the standard Welland Canal method of approaching locks by scraping along the dock wall - surprised that they do it, and then surprised that they don't weld beefy sacrificial strips of metal to protect the hull. They have some protection but not nearly enough IMHO. Thanks again!

      It was interesting to hear it scrape, though the audio of the video didn't pick it up very well
