Why does everyone who covers this get the part at 0:34 wrong. It's A-G#-G#F# not A-G#-A-G#-F#. Also at 1:10 the G# is longer and the first of the repeated F#s is much shorter than you're playing. Otherwise it's a great cover. Which sounds are you using for the Cello and the chords backing?
Craig Ames Hi, The Cello part is called Few Bows Here from the Korg Triton and a style from the Genos called OnBroadway for the backing. Regarding the notes, it’s my interpretation (cover), like a singer sings another artist song or a painter recreates a painting by another artist they won’t be like the original. The themes I play by composers on this channel mean a lot to people, myself included but unfortunately I can’t always find the sheet music and just do my own version by listening to recordings. Madeline's Theme is a sad haunting piece, if you've seen the movie Virginia Madsen has tears streaming down her face at this point. The repeated notes conjure a sense of a dying soul taking their final breaths which is why you see this so often in funeral songs. To insert a happy little bup-pa-bah ornamentation in there seems odd to me. Of course everyone likes to interpret the music differently which is why we play isn't it.
Craig Ames Hi, if you take a look at highway to heaven revisited and listen to the second half of crocodile Dundee (flute backing) you’ll notice I do it again. I have a habit of using it, i think it’s from learning how to do fills when I was younger on the organ? I agree! Music especially when we’re talking emotions in this film particularly should have been followed to what the composer wrote. I thank you for bringing this to my attention as trills or such are not appropriate at times. All the best
