I didn't care for this one very much. It had some interesting ideas, but I feel as if they weren't developed and assembled in a way I found very interesting. I feel like your comparison to an extended Black Mirror episode is spot on. I think the film was made competently enough, I just personally didn't find anything that compelled me. I don't think I've seen any more Brandon Cronenberg films but I'll definitely check out some more of his stuff. I've seen David Cronenberg's The Fly and Videodrome. I liked The Fly. I think I just wasn't in the mood when I watched Videodrome.
Yeah I totally agree. this movie sucked and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The themes at the end weren’t cohesive/meaningful(to me) and the characters acted in ridiculous ways.
I loved this one, and my wife hated it. That tracks. Brandon Cronenberg's movies take already weird concepts and make them as gory and trippy as possible, and I love that.
I like that you've been covering most of the movies I've seen in theaters this year! I've not been to the cinema nearly as frequently in my life as I have this year, I tell ya!

I was never pulled into it and was never really intrigued at all. It would appear to have been better received (by myself at least) as just a Black Mirror episode as others have suggested. I didn't hate it, but didn't like it either.
The camera rolling over slowly giving upside down views is something thats used more and more it seems, but its just a very annoying thing, doesn't add anything good to the experience at all

Easily one of the worst films of 2023 -- horror or not. I watched Possessor after this and liked it quite a bit, but Infinity Pool was awful.
You should 100% check out some Black Mirror when you have some spare time. Not every episode/season is good but some are amazing.
