I tried to install jdk 8 version followed all steps as it is but in cmd it's showing Could not create java virtual machine
What is execution environment ? What is 17 , 18 ,19 der? JavaSE-17 got selected by default, but der are 18 and 19 also.

Facing below problem after clicking on eclipse-inst-jre-win64.exe (using jdk1.8.0_341)
"The catalog could not be loaded. Please ensure that you have network access and if needed , have configured your network proxy."
Even my network is fine and tried with Manual as active provider.
Please let me know, how to resolve it.

Everything is awesome so far, but I am worried when creating a new Java project, I have Java JDK 20 on my pc, but the eclipse execution environment shows up at 17, and won't go higher than 19. And while your screen shows a project specific JRE as jdk 18.0.2, mine just says jre. So, it did not automatically pick the jdk 20 v i just installed. Last question- why does it tell me that a Capitalized "Project name is discouraged" Because clearly it is not an issue when I see your screen. What could I do to fix all of this? Thank you! Now, Eclipse comes with Java. You don’t need to install it or set the path separately.

For the company laptop it was showing when we clicked edit the environment variables it was asking admin username and password can u pls respond

In my system, the system cannot detect the JDK path on its own. Also, when I am trying to browse it manually, the OK button fades, which means the system is not allowing me to select JDK.

Go to os drive go to program files go to java folder which u have previously installed it go inside to that then u get path .so select folder and u get path while installing. I did it worked for me

Caused by: java.lang.module.InvalidModuleDescriptorException: Demo.class found in top-level directory (unnamed package not allowed in module)
Create a new package and create ur class file there instead in the default package

Now you don't need to set the path. Why?
Because Eclipse comes pre-installed with Java.
You don't even need to install Java before installing Eclipse.
