    Cool video!! Thaks for sharing!
    I’m going to Hammerfest for work and wanted to check the city before getting there. Your video was a very nice surprise.

    Thank you so much for making this video! And greetings from Portland, Oregon (I lived in a suburb of Seattle too as a young kid in the early 80s. Heard you flew in from there so thought I'd give it a shout out.).
    I came across Hammerfest while exploring Norway in Google Maps in Satellite View and then Street View when I found places of particular interest. The imagery of Hammersfest gave me feelings of nostalgia of the small town along the Puget Sound I'd lived in as a small boy. Although, with Hammerfest being in Norway, the buildings look better kept and the people in your video seem more outgoing and friendly than stateside.
    I'd suffered a disabling spinal injury at my work a few years ago and was very seriously looking into other countries with better access to quality and timely health care. It eventually turned out that gaining access to that is far less straightforward of a process than I had initially guessed, and later realized will probably never be able to happen, mainly due to my age.
    But your video helped me feel like I've now been there in Hammerfest, in-person, albeit briefly, and walked it! So, your video helped me live vicariously in a country (and a particular area of which) that I wish I could move to. Thank you again!

      I lived in Portland also in the 90's. Glad you felt like your were in Hammerfest! That is my intention for the walking tour videos and I appreciate your feedback. After all my travels I still find the Pacific NW some of the most beautiful in the world. And while I loved Hammerfest in the summer. The winter weather and darkness would be a challenge. Overall, I had such an incredible day in Hammerfest and so glad to share it!

      Yes, I mispoke in that Hammerfest is the northernmost "city" not town based on the definition of a city in Norway. Sorry about that but we can all agree that Hammerfest is pretty darn north! Happy Travels!

    I thought Longyearbyen in Svalbard is the Northernmost City in the Arctic Circle?

    • @TrueWindHealingTravel
      @TrueWindHealingTravel  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, Longyearbyen is more north but it's a town. Hammerfest is classified as city in Norway, thus the claim northernmost city.

      @@TrueWindHealingTravel The same with Honningsvåg. I know they call themselves a city (by), but the European definition of a city is minimum 5000 inhabitants. With it's 2300 inhabitants Honningsvåg is not a city.

      @@ahkkariq7406yes and no
      Honningsvag declared a city in 1996, one year BEFOFE Norway decreed a city must have at least 5000.So Honningsvag keeps the city by grandfathering... 😊😊😊😊😊

    It in t even the most northern town in Norway. Look at Svalbard.

    • @TrueWindHealingTravel
      @TrueWindHealingTravel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know about Svalbard. However, this is a semantics situation. In Norway, Hammerfest is a city whereas Svalbard is a town. So, Hammerfest is the northernmost city according to my research. Anyone who travels to Hammerfest will agree that it is very north!
