    I think Revice makes sense. That is the 50th anniversary season of the series, and that can show “What is Kamen Rider?” clearly in 2020s style.

      Impossible. It's just like power rangers Mega force & super mega force MK.II. Lots of references & footage of kamen rider that have not been adapted in America on Revice. It makes people who have never followed the Kamen Rider series, must be confused

    All Rider can be adapted if you do it right. They just can't all be adapted first. Basically you need to adapt something easy first and get a fan base then start moving into the ones that require more work to adapt.

    I have always thought Fourze would be really good to adapt to US, because the setting is a very American-style high school, so they would be able to adapt the show and it's pace very easily by using American teenagers. The story wouldn't need to change very much at all. I agree that Zero One is also a very good idea, because the themes are very easy to adapt for the US!

      I'm also thinking the same thing. Even better if they want to connect the story of Power Rangers where Angel Grove High would be a possible setting for the series.

    Kamen Rider Kuiz.
    With game shows based on wheel of fortune or legends of the hidden temple as backdrop, we have the suit and everything else is original.
    Doesnt have to be flashy either, its just the guy in the suit as the gameshow host or participant.
    OK now I want to see the kaijins vs KR in a gameshow XD it will be a parody genre .

    I think Drive would be a great start because of the cars and bikes on Drive and Mach's motif. If it has Power Rangers connections then maybe it could work as a sequel to RPM and Beast Morphers.
    And maybe make it animated into a cartoon?
    That's just my opinion.

    Ex-aid can be adapted because video games are popular. It could be inspired by Tron and maybe Pixel/ video gamer movies.
    Double could be adapted. The detective style fits perfectly. Shotaro and Raito(Philip) are great crime-fighting partners. Feels like Sherlock Homes and Dr. Watson. However, the idea of gaia memory crimes could be useful and suitable for Batman inspiration to match the more noir tone.
    Revice can be adapted because of the bromance between Ikki and Vice plus a cool concept.

    Late to the party xd
    In my opinion I would love to see an adaptation of either of the latest Kamen Riders series.
    Zero One is the top 1 of everybody because of its technological theme. And like you said, it can work like Detroit Become Human (My brother who isn't to much on Toku content really loved Zero One so if he love it I think many people in the western without knowledge of Kamen Rider will love it too. The story can stay the same or change just some little things.
    I love Saber and started watching with my two siblings, without knowledge of Toku and love Saber too. The Arthurian and some like Lord of the rigns aesthetic could make an intetesting plot for the adaptation. Withe the name of the stories, for copyright reason (some names are related to Disney movies) could be change to the ones in the series or to new ones ex. Peter Fantasia to maybe Fantasy Land, Never Land, Pietro Fantasia, Pietro's Neverland. The problem i can see is that the series will be related too much to Power Rangers with the color coded heroes, yet with the amount of rangers maybe can work even better that Dragon Knight (and maybe making a conection with it like a alternative line)
    Lastly Revice story about a Demon Deity from LatinAmerica is a 5 stars plot. I come from LatinAmerican, so seeing the Japanese using it as plot driving makes me happy. Some suits are good-looking yet some are unwatchable. I believe they can make a good use of the characters for a western Culture.
    Even so, I hope Hasbro (who's I think have the rights of Kamen Rider Adaptation) make a deal with other plataform (Amazon Prime or Even HBOmax). Not because I dont like netflix but because Netflix has already PR. Or maybe IDK, put it in netflix and make a crossover episode/movie.

If it does well, It would be great to see it recognized alongside the Japanese ones. We missed the mark so many times with Kamen Rider before, I really hope we can make one as enjoyable as Toei's shows, and less like what we have done in the past. I know we can do it, we just need the right crews and platform.

    • @malcomalexander9437
      @malcomalexander9437 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      But if it has to be an adaptation, then probably one of the post Decade seasons. Nothing against the pre Decade seasons, but their film quality will be older than the US footage. TJOmega made a video about this and he suggested adapting OOO since that Rider's look is one that couldn't be easily be mistaken for a Red Ranger. Zero One is also a good choice.

    • @malcomalexander9437
      @malcomalexander9437 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But thing about: totally US original series means that people won't go in with preconceived opinions based on what series has been adapted. Cause if the adaptation sucks, then that is gonna suck for Rider, like Gokaiger and Super Megaforce. That being said, an adaptation could also result in it being more liked than the original, such as Go-Onger and RPM. Ghost could also be a good season.

    These are some great points to recommend Kamen Rider shows to adapt especially coming from you.
    I think Zero One is the most likiest to adapt based on not only that Ironman feel but also because it's both new and the designs feels slicker and modern. Adapting the Humagear story would be great but I would prefer an entirely new story that have different themes that is more in line with the Showa Era concept of Ichigo such as by making Zero One as a human turned android Rider and focusing on the disconnection of human feelings and emotions and to challenge whether human feelings are good or bad.
    I do personally think adapting Ex-Aid is much preferrable but it's best to make entirely new suits to make it look cooler. Another idea is to adapt Build as the asthetic and toys are pretty awesome.
    However, I have to say that I think it's best to find and developed the best writers and directors who understands those shows and adapt any of the Kamen Rider shows in a way that understands and follows the source materials and add something new to it. US adaptations is a controversial subject at times because most US adaptation are either mediocre or bad. They don't respect nor stayed true of the source materials. It was often received more backlash by the fans because the execution of it is so bad.
    Therefore, I think it is better that instead of adapting the KR shows, how about make an entirely new KR show that has a new concept and new story add into it? It helps to avoid backlash from the fans and give something new to the fans that they might not experienced before. However, this comes with the risk of higher money and complex budgeting that needs to be made. Plus, it also needs effective advertisements and form designs that would make the show more promising as having an entirely new Kamen Rider show wouldn't necessarily attract most KR fans as they might prefer the KR shows from Japan.

  • @erikvannghiaquach258
    @erikvannghiaquach258 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Me personally, I would go for Zero One since the designs are basic enough for people to know the general gimmick of Kamen Rider and the themes of Zero One can translate well in the West. I also really really like the suit designs in Zero One. Not only that, the cinematography in my opinion is also the best in Kamen Rider for Zero One as I showed Zero One to some family members and they love the camera shots. Not only that, adapting Zero One would be a good opportunity to improve the story.
    I feel that any other season can work if they have the first season be basic first to get people understand what a Kamen Rider is before we can go insane. Like if we start with Ex-Aid, people would think the design will be like Ex-Aid for another season. But if we do something like Zero One first, we can transition to some seasons better.
    Fun fact, if Dragon Knight was successful, Kabuto or Blade would had been adapted afterwards but leaning towards Kabuto due to how Blade was not taken seriously for the memes.

    Personally, I'd start with Kamen Rider Build. The designs are great, the toy gimmicks are a very accessible idea and can be easily imagined in the context of western toy store shelves. For that series I'd replace the story for the sake of introducing concepts for a new franchise starting with that, but if more seasons were made they would stay closer to the original (eg. Zero-One would be similar to the Japanese series, but with attempts to fix many of the story issues seen in the series)

  • @krraika1847

    I have heard fans say Kabuto and Faiz would be good recommendations. Even the Wang Brothers who made Dragon Knight thought of adapting one of those either (there is a TH-cam video of the Wang Brothers saying that at Power Morphicon 2010 while doing a panel for Dragon Knight).
    However, I think Blade is a better option. This is probably because I have read fanfiction sequels to Dragon Knight which use Blade, but I think the card theme would help to bring Dragon Knight fans onto the show by giving what they may think is something familiar, while also having its own style to attract new fans with things like the Undead and their motivations (which can be an additional bonus, since the Undead can't die so the censors wouldn't worry about it or if the blood had been removed). Like with Dragon Knight, Blade's adaptation could also add the movie Riders into its story, so that can help with toy sales.

    Great video!! I think Fourze would be really easy to adapt to a US audience because it uses so many tropes that are very popular in US media; The dumb delinquent, the mean cheerleader, the arrogant football player, the gothic witch girl...but it also takes those tropes and puts an interesting spin on them that the audience can appreciate. The delinquent is a hero with a pure heart, the cheerleader is actually a great leader, etc, so . I think the theme of friendship is also one that any audience, especially children, can understand easily. The space motif is also very popular and can easily be adapted to the US.

Fourze could also be good because of the high school setting, it would let them link it to Power Rangers to start with, it would be 'familiar' to people. I do agree on Kabuto but given it's an older series, I would hope for a Dragon Knight level of American footage to make their own story.

    I think that Zero one is the most likely to get a US adaptation. The world building and the storyline is much similar to the US in terms of AI and company politics and cyberattacks. They can easily replicate it while adding new mixes in the shows. In terms of toy sales, since the majority of voices in the toys are in english, bandai could just repackage the whole thing and sell it to the US, with some minor changes of course. And we all know that Zero One has a bad ending, so maybe the US counterpart could fix that, maybe? Gaim has the potential but it is going to be a challenge to be adapted in the US, cuz the names for the riders some are written in japanese, so to completely change it into flashy, memorable english names would take a very long time, unless the audience like very long names or the original japanese one. Even so, gaim has the potential as well as ex-aid

    While Exaid has a great concept, one major thing that they will have trouble with is Dan Kuroto.....most of people's critics would probably be aimed at whoever is playing the western version
    Hibiki might be a hit-or miss choice for adaptation, it has a big potential due to how messy the japanese version was handled, and if they have a bigger budget, i rather have more Oni being show regulars, namely the Movie Oni like Touki, Kirameki, Kabuki, & Nishiki, the Western version might even be better than the original if done right, since Hibiki has a lot of missed opportunities

      But I like it when they film their own fight footage…

      @@JVision1 if thats the case then they might as well have original designs, why reuse designs if theres going to be all new footage.
