that's one thing about the skate BMX & mountain bike scene... the failures are part of the success to them. for every one of his polished videos, there's a behind the scenes showing the jokes, mistakes, and lucky moments. they're not embarrassed about it, but showing what it took to overcome it. Tom Cardy over-rotated doing a front flip, went to the hospital had a ruptured spleen... that all stayed in the video. when they mess up during a trick, they'll keep in takes of the mistakes until they get it right. I find it very inspiring. I think it's very important for the kids to see all these mistakes. No success comes without practice and working for it, and sometimes the risks are pretty big.
When I first saw your skills years ago, I was inspired to eventually become a trials biker myself. Unfortunately I injured my back in an unrelated incident and got a herniated disc, so I will never be able to be a trials biker. However, watching you have fun with this in the jovial attitude that you always have brings me joy. Even though I'll never be able to do this myself I am always absolutely delighted to watch you perform your magic. Never stop being you, Danny. You're a gift to this world.

I recently remembered watching some bike stunt video in year 1, so I search up “red bull bike stunts” and instantly I remembered studying your imaginate video 8 years ago at school. I remember being in awe of your tricks and at the end of studying the video i got your signature on a poster. The nostalgia I get from the watching these videos is incredible, I thank you for the good times you’ve given me and my classmates.
I’m a very infrequent rider, but what I’ve learn from watching videos from the likes of Danny and Sam Pilgrim et al, is that being a skilled rider is not enough, you also need to be incredibly good at falling in a way that is unlikely to end in injury.
Maybe the real skill is in the falling. Once you master that you can spend the rest of your time safely (safer? saferly?, for sure it isn't that safe) learning the best tricks.
Most People at the garden shop: "I think that table would look nice in my garden! I think I'll take it." Danny: "I can see about 10 different ways to use that table for some Drop and Roll. What amazes me the most is his ability to perform a stunt in a way that it produces ZERO unnecessary kinetic energy. Every move is calculated so perfectly, that u feel it's performed by a person with a weight of a feather and like the bike has a magnet in its wheels that makes it feel so planted. It's amazing how can anyone be so ahead of his/her competition in a given sport.. I dont see anyone coming close to this kind of physical perfection, nearly inhuman
