    I have only just discovered this channel and I have found these interviews eye opening to say the least. I have been that person "with their headphones in, within my own little bubble ... only caring about myself", I can't believe how naive I have been to homelessness. Cardiff is my home city, so I've been there many, many times. It's a beautiful city but - there are LOTS of homeless, guarantee you'll pass by at least 1 on every corner. Yet this city decides to spend 30k on a Christmas tree, in front of the castle, 20 seconds away from probably the most habited place by the homeless in the city centre street. Oh, and how much was the royal wedding again?

      @@ginam6691 it's not that simple. There are many different circumstances. Eg, Some homeless people choose to be so.
      Recently in Cardiff a man with a home chose to live on the streets, as he felt he knew that way of life more.
      He died a few weeks back on the main high street. But had a home.
      There are more than 90 beds available at the local charity, but they aren't full every night, as people give out tents and sleeping bags. They're choosing not to go to outreach centres.
      Awkward situation for all.

      The queen and her family are descendants from Lucifer. Direct descendants from Vlad the and paler. They are not human. They sacrifice babies and drink their blood and eat their flesh. Plenty of eyewitness testimony that saw this when they were young and now they're grown. They looked at humans like cattle/sheep. They could care less. The best thing you guys could do is get rid of your queen and that fake royal family. There's absolutely nothing royal about any of them.

    • @DiscoQing
      @DiscoQing 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@onmyway9749 Firstly, what makes them royal is the fact that they are declared so. Which renders your last point incredulous.
      Secondly, why would we get rid of them when it works for us financially? Something like 15% of the money they earn for the UK is given to them to fund their expenses. Not always the costs of renovations for palaces though, much like Westminster / big Ben atm...
      Lastly, so what if they're eating babies? It means less people on this shite planet for me to WORRY about.

    Here is another thing, laundry is super expensive on the street. If you have a washer and dryer, you take it for granted to have clean clothes. If you need to use a laundromat, one load of wash can be like $3.50. So after one day your socks stink, but you have to wait before doing laundry to get a full load even. I guess you could wash socks in a sink, and then hang them on your backpack or in a bush somewhere. It is rough to live rough like they call homeless living there.

      You can't judge someone because they are homeless. What hurts more than anything is people judging you for things that are out of your control. There are plenty of people with jobs who are scammers, who you hire in good faith and they rip you off. Being homeless has nothing to do with being a scammer. You either are willing to help the desperate and needy or you aren't. I think a lot of people like to make excuses why they don't help. They feed their greed instead of those in need. That is a miserable way to live.

    • @impresjaaa
      @impresjaaa 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not judging homeless people, I am just writing the opinions that I heard from many "common" people, in Poland there are many people asking for money just for the alcohol, in the past there were also many gypsies using their children for begging, generally I think it is up to individual whether he/she will help on the street but this is not enough anyway. We should support organisations which should help.

Barry council after a bit ,instead of helping us forced us to leave the hostel and go to a BandB in Newport. Even the hostel manager told the council they shouldn't do it because of seriousn of my mums illnesses. The day after we got forced to go to Newport my mum ended up in hospital. Then a month after we got forced to move to Newport we got a letter of Barry council saying that because we were out of their area they were no longer support us and that a month later they would stop paying for us. We went to Newport council and they said because it was Barry council that had moved us to Newport we were not their problem.

    I came very close to being homeless at one point. I realised fast that no-one is gong to help and the Uk doesn't give a damn about anyone, least of all homeless people. It was a very scary situation. I got out of the UK and went to Asia, you can actually make money here and at least it's warm. SOme may not be aware, but in Wales there have been campaigns to try and remove homeless people from the city centres, this has been countered with public anger. However, in the Welsh press, there have been articles placed advising the public that many begging are not genuine, but in fact have houses and are choosing begging as an easy option. These moves serve to kill empathy for those who are on the streets because they have fallen on hard times. As the gentleman in the video rightly says, the circumstances are far worse for single men- I hope life gets better for him.

      He said PARTNER, not WIFE, in case you didn't notice. That's another problem with society--Lack of Marriage. People SCREW around without MORALS. HAD he been MARRIED, there would have been LAWS to prevent SOME of that from occurring--such as the residence which BOTH would be entitled to.
      Possibly related to that is that IF he had a job, WHY couldn't he arrange temporary housing somewhere and STILL go to work? I am not criticizing him, just trying to envisage the situation. There is the possibility that he wasn't even employed while he was with his 'PARTNER", not WIFE. Maybe she was the one working.
      IF he had been married, and faultless in behaviour, and SHE (the WIFE) would have been working, then SHE would OWE HIM money if he had been the stay-at-home dad.
      He was most likely NOT married, since he said PARTNER. Most likely, he didn't have a job before being 'kicked out', and so had nothing to support him and no way to pay for alternate housing.
      Please learn to COMPREHEND things before making JUDGEMENTS and PUTTING BLAME on people.
      THere is INSUFFICIENT information to blame anyone right now.

      Maura L: Exactly.. this isn't the forum for politically correct Justice warriors. We don't have to agree w/each other to have a productive conversation. Christie A: "First ones to blame are his wife and his best friend' is what I was replying to. I think THAT needs an attitude check more than anything else.
      Productive conversations are for literate people in this type of forum, which is reading and writing. Comprehension is missing in many cases.
      This missing comprehension leads to possibly INCORRECT CONCLUSIONS such as blaming a most-likely NON EXISTENT 'WIFE" and friend.
      (If he was married, I have never heard of a married person call his wife 'partner' instead of 'wife'. MOST married people call each other husband and wife, which is why I commented on the PERILS and RISKS of being only a 'partner', which confers about ZERO rights to the other because it is not a LEGAL, BINDING contract, like a MARRIAGE is.)
      IF people want assurances in life, be it professional or even personal, there need to be contracts. Otherwise, PROCEED at your own risk. This guy apparently did. (It's like people swimming in a pool without a lifeguard---swim at your own risk. Yes, marriage is a contract, and that piece of paper is a LIFEGUARD when the other has a row and wants to kick you out--guess what, he or she can't because there is an agreement..Now, divorce is a procedure that takes time, and BOTH parties have to be legal about it.) He is now paying the price. Go ask his QUEEN MOTHER in WINDSOR for help, since he apparently also doesn't have FAMILY to take him in.

    It sounds like homelessness in the UK is the same as it is on the Eastern seaboard of the United States. In the warmer regions with blissfully low humidity, people seem at least to get a sufficient amount of sleep,even if their other less critical basic needs are difficult to meet. In locations where the weather seems to range from cold and damp to hot and humid with only a handful of comfortable weather days per year, painful sleep deprivation appears to be the number 1 problem. That's why I want so much to start a "sleep hospital" business similar to what's available in the airports of some Asian countries. The difference is that my sleep cubes/rooms would be priced at something like 3 dollars per hour, which in 2019 would easily cover all overhead expenses, even in ridiculously overpriced regions like the eastern US and the UK where I think a business like that would be most needed. I think it could be partially funded by sponsors, as well as super-transparent crowd sourcing where even donors who wish to remain anonymous could be assigned identifying numbers instead. I think people would be more inclined to want to donate to or invest in a business where every last dollar is accounted for and publicly listed, unlike all the amazing disappearing tax dollars and donations to certain entirely self-serving nonprofits.
