Piri was my first DC song, even before I knew what kpop was. It popped up in a supermix on my way home one day and as soon as I got to a red light I went back and liked the song. It wasn't until a year later, when I stumbled across the Scream MV, that I realized they were a kpop group and after diving into the rabbit hole I discovered that they were who sang Piri.
"PIRI" - and shortly afterwards "Scream" - was my start back then. And? Isn't it just incredibly good - until today? It never gets boring. I can't believe how these 7 wonderful young women - in every way - were found. And - they keep getting better. I'm not talking about the many musical styles they serve, but about their live qualities. Especially vocally. After 5 minutes of live singing and the choreos I would drop half dead, let alone hit a note. Unfortunately, this is underestimated in K-pop; It's all about studio recordings and performed vocals. Even with songs that would allow singing as there was little or no choreography (ballads). Not so DC - there was a lot of mic-on during performances - if not quite as perfect at times. So what? Respect for that alone. Let everyone else try too. But there could be a lot of crashes I think. Just one example: When DC appeared with "Deja vu" in "Show Champion" at the end of 2019, the singing playback stopped completely after a short time (due to technical problems). just a heads up in case no one warned you. reacting to live stages from broadcast channels(sbs, kbs, mbc, mnet) can be problematic because if you get unlucky you could get a copyright strike. since strikes have to be tagged manually by the rights holder, it's less likely for smaller channels that don't get a lot of views but it still could happen. this is why some of the bigger channels that get tens of thousands of views per video do not react to broadcast live stages. I know a lot of kpop fans are teenagers and don't really care about the reactor, but as a fan of dreamcatcher I don't want to see anyone getting into any problems reacting to their material :) if you want to react to a live performance, my advice is to check out fancams. many are done by professionals and the quality is just as good if not better than ones from broadcast channels. you can just ask for recommendations and I'm sure plenty of fans will give links. piri's choreo is actually on the less technically difficult side compared to others. they have often said chase me is one of their hardest choreos. if you ever want to check out a good fancam, I'll link one below. it's a stationary fancam so you get to see the full choreo. th-cam.com/video/DluafCMnbPA/w-d-xo.html
Chase Me choreo is what Dreamcatcher themselves have said is their hardest but my impression is that this is simply because it's the most tiring. There is a LOT of movement and finding the break to breathe before singing is very hard. I think there are other more technical choreos but because Dreamcatcher are so good they probably don't find them hard 😁
