    I forgot to mention that you can smell the flowers 10 meters or 30 feet away!!!! It is THAT fragrant (on a windy day I must add).

    May i know what is the potting mix you used? Actually I am from Indonesia and I found this orchid is challenging. Thank you

      I use medium grade orchiata (bark) mixed with charcoal and sponge rock and I water it every day.

    So gorgeous! Love it! Thanks for sharing and happy growing 😀! I've never had a celogeny before due to their size, but always wanted one. Which one do you recommend?

      Thank you! I only grow rochussenii and recently bought usitana. I plan on acquiring pandurata with its striking green and black flowers.
      As far as recommendations are concerned, temperatures are critical. I live in South Florida and need a warm growing orchid but some Coelogynes are cooler growing.
      From my research, among the warm growers are rochussenii, usitana, pandurata, lawrenceana, pachystachia while among the cool growing are cristata, corymbosa, mooreana, flaccida which apparently need cold nights year round and a dry rest?

    Well, you answered my question: how old is your plant😉. I purchased one, from Smiley, last October and, so far, it only has 2 leaves; one still rather small so, I guess, I need to be patient!

      I checked and mine is 4 years old and I bought it from Andy's Orchids. Smiley carries a bunch of them indeed. This is a fast grower but this time of the year the plant focuses on flowering. During the summer, it should grow many bulbs and leaves. Beware: it hates repotting. Mine had more leaves until one month ago but I had to trim the largest and newest leaves which got hit by the bacterial infection (see previous video). Overall this plant resisted the infection much better than my Stanhopeas. I am hoping the infection is under control? Wonderful plant and wonderful fragrance! good luck!

    What type of media are you using for this beauty? What fertilizer to you use?

    • @orchidhouse
      @orchidhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A mix of bark, sphagnum moss, sponge rock and charcoal. Regular fertilizer but I alternate different types: 20/20/20 + epsom salt, Kelp Max once a month, bloom booster once a month or less
