Even though I’m a huge Erra fan and ADORE this album…I don’t mind at all how much you shit on them lol. I think it’s really important that once in a while we all get that gentle reminder that our own musical tastes aren’t the end all be all A lot of the things you pointed out are things that do kinda bug me now. Not enough to make me rethink my own tastes, but enough to get me more interested in why they are the way they are. Thanks for the perspective! Love your reactions, Cheers
@@unclefoot I like hearing perspectives from people who dislike bands I like to hear a new point of view. Often times it just comes down to things that bother one person might not bother another person. I don't like tappy riffs, but if you're a fan of that, I can see this album being great in your eyes. It's really cool how different people's musical tastes are
@@coreyclip1 I couldn’t agree more! Idk why our tastes develop the way they do…but I feel like a lot of it has to be circumstantial. Point in case, I love Erra. BUUUT there’s an argument to be made that I was primed to love Erra. Not in a deterministic way, just that it was the right music at the right moment kind of thing. Also, I feel like having a background/working knowledge in music theory or a specific instrument has to also play some kind of role in it too. I know that doesn’t apply to a lot of folks but as someone who’s been drumming for 26 years and slowly teaching myself bass/keys for 5, my tastes definitely started to shift/widen once I started trying to wrap my head around those other instruments. Tastes, like people, are weird lol
@@unclefootTrue. I'm a classically trained vocalist/pianist so naturally I latch more onto melodies and really interesting rhythmic stuff. ERRA just isn't my type of thing I guess
First off, that’s fucking awesome! Second off, that makes perfect sense to me. I have a friend/bandmate who was a Berkeley guy and while him and I can get down on a lot of the same kinds of music, we’d always end up picking apart shit that each other was into. But we both always agreed that there was never a bad time to listen to BTBAM lol. Btw, I gotta thank you for reacting to VOLA!!! Loved this! A lot of your criticisms are things I’ve never even thought could be problematic for some people’s tastes, and after 11 years of listening to this album it’s really cool to get fresh perspectives on what it is about their music that turns other metalcore fans off, and what draws people like me in. All the things you disliked are actually things i love, despite your points being very valid😂 like in Spirits Away, you didn’t like the legato vocals over the very rhythmically complex staccato chugging. To me that’s a contrast that goes together like bread and butter 😎 anyway keep it up, love your videos!
man there's like no tapping on augment LOL
Lol ik I was literally about to say I don’t think there’s a single tapping part on augment
Except for rebirth
Could you react to the new Intervals album Memory Palace?
@@CyberManor sure I'll add it toy list! Might take a while but I'll get to it at some point. I want to hear as many new albums as I can

@@coreyclip1 then stfu pussy. thanks for shitting on a band without making better music than you claim to shit on.
I think every band in the entire word does the lyrical thing youre talking about
Not every. There's some that really know how to write good lyrical flow like Reliqa and Darko to name a couple
@@coreyclip1 stfu, you know that's not true. you just want to keep attributing what you think this band doesn't have, to what band's you love have.

My favorite by them is Impulse. I didn't like this one too much either.
