Never been soo happy building bespoke projects in the shop to support our main home renovation business. I consider watching your videos as self directed studies that support my career as a self employed general contractor.
Love vegging out to watch your stuff also like the tip on transferring your line around the board. I’m a welder by trade but laying out tips can be universal. Thanks for sharing

Another beautiful piece. Those nightstands are really amazing. I sympathize with the eyesight degradation. My near vision started changing when I hit 50. For really small detail work I wear readers and sometimes use a headlamp to get extra light on the subject. Looks dorky, but it works.
Wow absolutely stunning the hole bed looks awesome but those nightstands are absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to see the finished product. Amazing work as always.
great build, looking forward to the next chapter. i like your mix of old and new tools, very few modern tools come close to old iron both in hand tools and machinery. my handtools are a mix of old stanley and modern veritas(lee valley)
Wait till you're 57....I can still focus fairly close-up, but need 2x the light I used to need. I use magnifiers fairly often too when doing inlay, fret jobs (I build guitars), etc.

I remember you used to do videos starting with the morning commute? At 1 st I would think “ doesn’t this man live right next to his shop”? Anyway I am a finish carpenter and I actually use some of your skills to apply to mine! Keep’em coming buddy from an old Nor Cal farming country guy ! I hv been to LA like twice in my 60 + yrs and both times I got ill from all the wokeness floating in the air! Had to be hospitalized and give a backbone transfusion?
I know you’re using relative dimensioning and it didn’t matter in the long run, but please do not trust a 1/2” wrench as a gage. I used to work for a tool maker and the wrenches are made with surprisingly large tolerances
You’re actually right. The craftsman I apprenticed under would heart his wrenches and hammer them down to size. They’re almost always oversized in my experiences, so I’ll usually turn my tenons a little smaller after I finish sizing with the wrench.
Getting old isn’t something we all look forward to. However, the alternative isn’t appealing either. As you know Andy, God did not create us to last forever. We all do have an appointment with Him in His perfect timing.
That's exactly true. I never told my kids to go lift weights with me. I did races and lift weights. Guess what. Without me telling them. My son wanted to start racing also and then later both my son and daughter started working out with weights and what really surprised me was my daughter which is what people would call a really girly girl. She told me she never thought she would have ever enjoyed it but she does. Proud dad
