      Hi Chris
      This is just another superb video! I really like the way how you're performing, it's very professional!
      I have a question, in your "perpetual motion" video you showed these spirals in glasses. I can't find them to buy. Could you please tell me how i can get one of these? Thank you :)

    I love seeing the illusion. I love working out how it's done, if I can. TH-cam has been really neat in that respect. But what brings the reverence and a tear to my eye is watching the polish and perfection the illusionist brings and imaging how many hours of practice and frustration went into the execution. Major respect for what must be more than just the 10,000 hours. I love the Show; I hope it continues.

    I had a kid magic show kits when i was younger and many trick decks. I knew it was some trickery from back then and did some courtyard show myself for my primary school friends. I still love seeing a magic show. I may know it an illusion but i enjoy the acting and skills of the performer even more knowing the basic of these of magic tricks.

    Hi Chris, you may have saved my life! I was all but a drink away from ending it by overdose, then only by chance as i was looking at my phone i seen your video and it screamed at me to watch it and I'm so glad i did!!! I've been suffering from depression for couple years now due to drugs and lifes harsh way of making things just seem worse than they really are!. I related this video to my life and journey, so to explain i mean I started watching your channel because of magic, but like you have said yourself, it's changed to another content as to say, so I just finished watching your convention video and "wow" how awesome your love of magic has been rekindled and so was my passion for living again, I felt the same with my life how you felt with magic, after understanding things, like you with magic, they tent to become mundane and slowly becomes less of a love and more of a job!, I felt this about my life and I had all but given up on it... magic is real I have always felt this, I also felt thats why you had this love of puzzles because even though we understand them and can solve them there is still a level to them that will always remain magical from the idea to the creation and skill of making them even after we have the solution, I may be losing track of what I'm saying but to make it simple I mean watching this video after the convention one I realized that the universe had answered you! I hope you know what I'm saying by this, Thats what I observed from watching this anyway, so I realized in that moment that I do love life I really do, more so now than ever because I understand it better and what I don't understand will will only make me strive to understand and love it more, this is what magic means to me, its a blessing to have come across this at such a dark time in my life and I knew some strange energy brought this to me as I needed it and it had everything to relate in subtle ways too, thats so magical and it's inspired me to carry on my journey, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Love you all.

    LOVED this video chris! i've been watching you for years and i kind of dropped off recently, i think it's related to your feeling uninspired about magic but that last FISM video and your speech in it were incredible. I feel your love for magic and performance and the ART of magic come through so strongly in this video. maybe because the old tricks are themselves inspiring. but so is your performance here! i love you chris, keep doing amazing work!1

    I like the last sentiment. Some magicians seem to believe that magic has one purpose only: to fool the spectator. Many magicians forget that the spectators usually love magic as much as the performer. They have seen many of the tricks before, and they know how some parts of some of them are made, they may even have attempted some on their own. That is not the point - not the only point. One can be amazed by performance, delivery, charisma and stage presence even if the trick is 100 years old and not very fooling. One can be utterly bored even if you are fooled.

    • @theotherohlourdespadua1131
      @theotherohlourdespadua1131 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it was due to the lineage of which Magic traces itself to: conmen and tricksters swindling people of their money. Many of the techniques used in Magic originally started out as techniques used by conmen like for example Prestidigitation or Sleight of Hand; you can use that to make things appear or disappear from and into places you least expect it OR use it to trick bettors in a cup and ball game...

    • @dezopenguin9649
      @dezopenguin9649 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is so very true. A bad trick isn't a trick that I can't figure out. A bad trick and, more accurately, a bad _performance_ is one where I don't care to bother trying. Whereas, I can watch my favorite performances time and again and love them just as much.

  • @michaelshockley4270
    @michaelshockley4270 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you, Mr. Ramsay, for this beautiful video stage presentation to share your treasures with us. Magic for me as a spectator is not so much the props used to fool us but the art of presentation. Like when you said " a copy of the force card goes here...." and you show the random selection of a card that you "forced". This to me is the amazing part of magic i never tire of. Whether i think i know how a trick is done. The Magician can even explain it to me. But then in the end do it differently unexpected . We can laugh about the corney to the bizarre but in the end it takes balls to get on stage or do the close up magic. It is art and much dedication to make it look good. Thank you for the lighthearted bit at the end. That was fun.

    Excellent video. The art of Illusion is so changed. I can remember hearing a parent explain away illusions in a haunted attraction just so their child wouldn't be scared. Don't go if you don't wish to enjoy the illusion. The illusion of magic is so glorious. Some folks just feel they need to "know" rather than just let the glory and wonder wash over them. Well done. Well spoken, oh handsome magician.

    Over the years I have become more appreciative of magic and magicians. I find that in many cases, knowing how a trick is done gives me a better appreciation for the skill necessary to perform the trick. Even when a simple gimmick is performed well I still find enjoyment and appreciation in the presentation.
    I also take great delight in figuring out how a trick is done for the same reasons.
    Magic has always had a nerdy and lame stereotype with it... but it's a skill that people practice and get good at and perform and that is always, in itself, magical.
