  • A short and shaky Video of myself designed SmoothBurner Tool Head with integrated Filament Cutter.
Since its arrival - Not quite content with the faceted design of the StealthBurner I've decided to bring it back in line with the rest of the Voron V2.4 but kinda slept on that Project until I saw not just a cosmetic need for a revised Tool Head but also a practical one - In this case the use of CPAP Part Cooling and a Tool Head Filament Cutter since they're all the rage these days for use with Multi Color / Material Systems like the ERCF.
Unlike the design proposed by the Community with the ERCF v2 this Filament Cutter is practically invisible except for a 4mm Hole in the side of the Tool Head and the remains of an M3 Screw in the B-Drive's Idler not only preserving the aesthetic of the Design but also only adding the tiniest amount of extra weight to the Tool Head as it only requires a #11 Hobby Blade, 4x M3 Screws with accompanying Heat Set Inserts, and a Springsteel Wire compared to an entire Lever Action Mechanism.
As can be seen in the Footage after purging the remains of some ABS the System has no issues with cutting ASA even without the use of a Lever Action Mechanism.

That looks really clean, also diggin the PTFE inside the ducting. I like angles, but I like the cleanliness of this even more.

I don't mind Angles; I just think the now StealthBurner no longer meshes with the rest of the Voron Design ( like the Z-Drives ) hence my Quest to bringing the Tool Head back in line with the rest of the Machine. Perhaps one day I'll take a peek at the design of the Skirts 🤔 The Apple Cheesegrater design might work for them 🤣
In case you're interested - Here's some better lit photos of the Printer ( imgur.com/a/JUczQra ) including the inside the CPAP Tube routed PTFE Tube - Something I'm hoping will help me with printing PLA in an otherwise ASA print without the PLA getting soft before reaching the Tool Head though considering the temperature's I've reached inside the Enclosure today I may end up having to incorporate a CPAP Bypass System for sucking in fresh Air while printing PLA 😑

Great toolhead design. Is there any chance you will share the design files for this toolhead?

There are no plans to share this variant without optimizing it first.
