I agree with Linda, top loader washers are the best at getting clothes clean.
Agree top load best.
Jerry and Linda so unbelievable people watching are so very disrespectful and comments are so unnecessary. Enjoy your content and has become very helpful to many including myself while trying to navigate throughout the Villages while we are here. Thank you for your kindness.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Agree I like my top loaders!!
Just finished watching your Monday video about unexpected cost if living inTV. As I mentioned before recently, I have just loss my husband of 54 years, and now trying to sell a house and hopefully buy a smaller one, as I love living in TV. I’ve tried to make a list of all the expenses that you will have and it’s hard to think of everything, so your video helped with some things that I hadn’t thought of, so thank you. You both do a great job and I also like the segment of “You might need this”. Very helpful. Hope to meet you some day.
Thank you Barbara. So sorry about your husband. ❤❤
In my pre-TV home I had a 20 year old Whirlpool washer and dryer. Never did a lick of maintenance and never had an issue until finally the dryer gas wouldn’t stay lit. The repairman said it’s a $300 repair and said I should consider just getting a new one, but he showed me while it was apart the typical wear points and none of them were of any concern. He said it would outlast a new one. So I fixed it. While looking on TH-cam on what was wrong I saw a lot of repair guys saying the Korean brands are using metals that rust and will only last five years. Many recommend Speed Queen because they mainly build commercial machines.
I was stunned when the TV house we bought had Speed Queen machines. The first owner is a legend in my neighborhood and she certainly did a great job with this house.
Jerry & Linda, it is still such a delight tuning in each week!😊
Thanks Betty! We appreciate your continued support! ❤❤
I really like my front loaders! Cleans great and drys great!!
Front loaders use much less water and do NOT get the clothes clean. I used to pour 2 gal of water in the detergent drawer to help out. Many times I pulled clothes out that were dry and never got washed. I now have a Maytag top loader and love it!!!
Maryanne sounds like your front loader was not operating properly.Unless your a construction worker or are working in your garden everyday they really don't require a heavy washer experience, also if your clothing is not thoroughly wet you probably loaded to much of a load.Front loaders are money savers and work great usually
Best washer Speed Queen top loader!
One more comment❤Mr Peter B is wonderful every time for he is truly a Bubble wrapper😂
Loved pet of week! My pup was blind and deaf before he passed and he still managed to be happy. ❤
Your show gets better and better. God bless you folks! Had a silly laugh over the salty. Laughter's good medicine.😊
We appreciate you watching! 😂🤣😅
Truly, Life is Happer with Jerry and Linda, a real happy meal!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Last year, we needed a new top load washer, bought one from Lowes, got it home, and it only filled up halfway with water even though the deep fill button was on. Found out that all mfgrs, except Speed Queen, only make water saving washers. I sent the washer back to Lowes; they have/had a 48-hour return policy.
I bought a Speed Queen, and love it. The water fills up all the way to the top. Here's the kicker, the Speed Queen washer uses about half energy to run than the Lowes "Energy-efficient" model. Plus, our S.Q. has a 5-year parts AND labor warranty.
Our dryer is a S.Q. too, still running, and it's 6 years old.
Love my Speed Queen
Good to know! Thanks!
Hello Jerry and Linda, I agree with you Linda because you never know what the temperature will be in the restaurants so I always take a sweater or a jacket. Great bubble rap Petter and wonderful information. I like the top load washer too and also have trouble getting clothes out. I got the word jumbo.
❤🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆❤
Thank you.
Hi Jerry and Linda - another great show❤ I don’t know why some people feel free to be so mean and nasty when they send in such hurtful salty comments like the one today😡 You can be critical without being hateful 😤 I like top loading washers better than front ones - agree the clothes get cleaner 👏🏻 Peter’s tip for today was a great one - my brother has one of those and they are really handy (plus the air is free😊).
New idea for Bubble Rap, we had water stains on the side of our house, the fence and block wall in the back yard. The irrigation water not only smells, but leaves a chemical stain wherever it lands. Someone suggested using a product called SNOW CAP to spray on the stained areas and boy does it work. The stains melt away and doesn't hurt the paint or my plants. Please tell Bernard to look into this product it's great!
That is a great suggestion.
Retired nurse here. Worked in a clinic. Way too many peopke should not be driving. We had people that were legally blind, mobility issues preventing a quick response and several with advanced dementia. Scary.
You are right about that.
We love watching you two! We don’t live in the Villages. We have been there and have friends that live there. Great community. We live in AZ in a Del Webb community, Sun City Grand, rebranded as “The Grand”. 10K homes. Lots to do here, we love it. It’s a smaller scale of The Villages.
Loved the pet of the week! Looks like they are giving their dog a wonderful life.
I like to yell back at stupid drivers too, but my hubby hates it when I do. He’s worried about repercussions. Long ago, my brother was driving his jeep with the top removed. For whatever reason, a person driving next to him was enraged. This guy threw a hot coffee at my brother. Unfortunately, the guy was never caught.
Linda, your laugh always brings a smile to my face. My grandmother had the same kind of laugh. Brings back such great memories. 😊
Thanks to Peter! That air compressor would make a great present.
Thank you so much for watching, we are glad you enjoyed the video.
Thank you. Good idea.
I'm with Linda, I like Top Loader washers! I don't feel my clothes are getting clean with a Front Loader. And I got the Word Jumble as soon as you said the clue! I wish they were all as easy as this one! 😀
🙂🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🙂
Sweet Charlie, Pet of the week! I liken the front load washers to when our ancestors had to take the clothing to the river and beat it on a rock to wash it. The front loaders just drop the clothes down, turn a bit and drop the clothes again. I agree with Linda, the clothes don't get clean. I got rid of mine and went back to a top loader with an agitator. I got the riddle!
😁🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆😁
Jerry & Linda, we always love your videos and happiness. It was so great to see Holly, Mike, Mary, Mike, & Kim in the video also. We miss all of you and when we see everyone it makes it feel like we are all still connected to your lives. You do an amazing job with all the videos and information. It is appreciated by SO many people near and far 😄
Thanks Mel & Lisa! 🙂🙂🙂
I currently have a Samsung washer-unfortunately it does have a mold issue. Can’t wait to move to the Villages to buy a top loader❤
My wife and I decided to vacation in the villages for the month of January after watching many of your videos, we had the best time and we will be back next year! It was a pleasant surprise running into you guys at a Brownwood concert the first part of the month, we sat in front of you in the stands, your 3 grandkids were helping you enjoy the show! Keep up the good work! Rick and Eileen from Minnesota.
We're so glad you had a great time! It was fun meeting you both!
Thank you Peter Bernard. We love hearing your information.🎉
Thank YOU. 🎉
What love from the parents of this beautiful Poodle! Love and Care!
Been thinking of you Holly, and aren't we all glad we live in such a helping community? 💝
Hope all is well Roxie. This is an amazing place and I feel so thankful every day to live here!
Top load for me all the way! I like the old school style which has the full agitator in it....that is likely what we will get when we arrive - Costco is where we bought the most recent set for our lake house. We did dozens of loads of laundry each week and it did a great job! Thanks Jerry and Linda...look forward to meeting you after we close on our new home in April!
Glad we could help! See you when you get here!
I enjoyed seeing the special love being given to the blind poodle, Peter’s good advice on the Bubble Wrap, and your advice on restaurants. My husband and I just love your show! ❤️
❤❤❤❤Thank you so much for watching!❤❤❤❤
Thank you. 🎉
Linda I wish I had a top load washer! They definitely clean the clothes better and it is getting tough to get down to get all the wet clothes out! I really like all your videos!
Top loader with agitator is the best. I have a top loader that does not have the agitator in the middle of the drum and it does not clean the clothes as good. My next washer will be an old fashion top loader with an agitator. Great show.
Thanks, Kimberly!
Every on line professional review shows the new, agitator - less top loaders are the best for cleaning.. the front loaders last about 5 years until the "drum" is no longer balanced. Top loaders last about 12 years.
Here in the cold and loving it. It's brisk and beautiful. 💙💙💙
Thank you Jerry and Linda for another great show! Jennifer and I always look forward to waking up early Tuesday morning (we are across the dateline) to watch your show. Jim & Jennifer from the Marshall Islands
We love having you watching, Jennifer and Jim!
I had a brand new top load Maytag. It was horrible! I had to manually add water, it did not get the clothes clean. I now have a LG ThinQ. I LOVE it . Front loader. I put a king size comforter in it, wet all the way through with several cycles. Hubs work clothes I run on heavy and it washes over an hour. I will never go back to top loader.
Enjoy your show thank you for the happy distraction. My wife Sherri is sitting here with Covid.
We are so sorry to hear that, we hope she feels better soon!
Careful with those portable small compressor. If you are very low in air you might exceed the “duty cycle” of the compressor and burn up the motor. In short read the instructions of the compressor to know the duty cycle.
Totally agree with the front-loaded wash machines. I will not buy another and I have a high-end one now.
We had people in golf carts yell at us for stopping at stop signs during our first visit to The Villages last October. We were trying to abide by the golf cart rules. I'll admit, it negatively impacted our first impression.
Jerry,
It would be EZ, and one would be a Star, if one figured this one out 😊
😁🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆😁
Good show. I enjoyed hearing Holly's stories. And what a beautiful Pet of the Week. Adorable.
Thank you so much!
Hi Mike and Mike and Mary and Kim! 👋Got the word jumble before you even finished reading it...amazing.😯
❤🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆❤
Linda, I have some tongs on my dryer. I use them to get things out of the bottom of my top load washer. 😊
Great idea!!
One of your best shows with all the new items discussed. Regarding your car interaction and being video savants, you all should have dashcams. It might make great content.
Thanks, good idea!
Always love watching yiu both 🎉❤have a awesome February
❤❤❤❤❤
We thoroughly enjoyed the show this week and of course your kind words referencing me🥰 The feelings are mutual.❤
I don’t know if you know but my washing machine is a Maytag top loader that I have owned since 1997. It’s 27 years old!! It’s literally the only machine I ever bought. They truly don’t make them like they used to! The brand Speed Queen is what has been recommended to me when I need to get anything not designed to expire in 5 years.
💓💓💓💓💓
Can’t wait to move to The Villages ❤️❤️❤️
I have a front loader washer and dryer and love both. Mine is 12 years old and never had a problem with either. Gets my clothes very clean, even great on stains too. My brand is LG.
Great Monday show! Charlie is adorable and a pup who looks like he loves playing fetch. Yes top loader washer all the way. Word jumble~~ Linda just got one! Maybe see you Wednesday night, usually a busy night for us. Have a great week! ❤✨
Thanks! You too! 😁🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆😁
Awesome show - hi Holly!!!!! Holly and Al are truly awesome people…..Sooo sorry to have missed thunderbird night on Brownwood!!! Well anyway Looking good my friends - great show as always ….see ya soon!!!
We missed you too! Come see us again soon!
Hi Jayce, thanks for your sweet comments. We think you are great. Hope to see you this month.💕
Thanks for talking about the unexpected expenses. I always think about the standard things like appliances, water heaters, broken sprinklers, but never considered sealed driveways and the power washing. I'm hoping they change the rules about roofs there. It's good to know you can get an inspection and an extension on a roof that's still in good condition.
You are correct. A roof would be a whopper of an unexpected expense.
Linda, I totally agree with you about top loading washing machines. My mother was vertically challenged just like you. She had a tool with a long wood handle and 3 heavy metal prongs on the end with blunt tips like 3 little fingers. She used it to reach her clothes etc in the bottom of the washer or move them around if the washer became unbalanced. She gave it to me, but I believe it disappeared after the flood when I hired some people to help me with my basement cleanup. I used it a lot because I’m only 5’2”. Taller than you but still short.
🙂🙂🙂
I have to agree with Linda on the top load/ front load issue
Great show. Not sure if you have been to the BBQ place in Wildwood yet called Oakwood Express Smokehouse & Grill. The place was packed. Portions are HUGE! Food is delicious. Try it if you haven't! (Prices really reasonable)
There is also Oakwood Smokehouse over on 860 S 441, Lady Lake. Same business but I think a nicer place to visit.
I got the jumble…I hope you are enjoying your new ride. Thanks for the unexpected expenses segment. All good info.
🙂🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🙂
Bubble wrap today was very helpful. I didn't know about pressure being shown on door. But, I think he's using a Ryobi Air Inflater. They are not sold at Lowes...exclusively sold at Home Depot. I have that same inflater. Those Ryobi tools all use same battery so you can always have spare batteries. I keep it in my trunk with one of my spare batteries.
When it gets cold here in Austin, the heat is cranked up to 70 and I wind up wearing a sweater to drive in to the office and a short sleeved shirt at my desk. A week ago we had a high of 40 outside and I had to turn a fan on at my desk because I wore a cotton sweater and it was too hot because the heater was blowing all day long. I knit myself a snuggly warm sweater and it's only wearable like 5 non-consecutive days a year.
A little late watching this week, but I have to tell you that you always make me smile and laugh. Thanks so much!
Thank you! 😊😊😊😊
Team Speed Queen top load here, but pretty soon I'll need a stool to get the wash out. 😁
😆😆😆
Love your show, hoping to Snowbird soon in pretirement. Keep some of the cute unedited versions make it more enjoyable n fun. It's a relief that everything doesn't have to be so perfect.
Thank you so much. I don't think we have to worry about being too perfect.😛😛😛
Jerry you cracked me up with your dancing, it made me lol and you're not bad at it. Re: top loader washing machines, I have heard that they do clean better than a front loader, finally something where the best alternative is a cheaper product. Lastly, loved Peter's bubble wrap, we're looking to purchase one.
Thank you! 🙂🙂
My beloved dog Jack who recently passed away went blind 2 years ago. He was a beautiful Pom Chi tricolor but mostly white with black ears, freckles and tan eyebrows. Perfect markings and smart as a whip. When he was tiny I taught him his body parts like eyes, nose, ears, feet etc. People laughed at me. Well, when he lost his sight it was a godsend that he knew his body parts because he would be so startled if you touched him when he couldn’t see you. I’d say, “Jackie head or Jackie feet and he’d know I was going to touch him there. We’d repeat the lessons when I first started teaching him several times in succession. Sometimes he didn’t want to do it and he turned his head away from me. It was so cute. I taught him my eyes and nose etc at the same time. He’d lick whatever part I would say, like “mommy’s eyes, mommy’s nose. People changed their tune when he went blind. I miss both my dogs terribly. They each passed before Christmas two years apart. They were the same age, 1/2 siblings born 5 days apart. Both absolutely wonderful. I may get another and I’ve already chosen 2 names, but would only get one. I want the same mix but a Pom poo or Pom ausie mix would be good. Doesn’t matter if it’s male or female. It will be wonderful. All my animals are kind and gentle and some are extremely intelligent.
What wonderful memories you must have of your pups.
I stopped by Willie’s barbeque in Monteverde on the way home from Costco. I got a $6.95 lunch special to go. It was so good. We should go do an out and about there. They are only open 11-7 on Friday and Saturday only.
That sounds delicious! Will do!
Linda, Aways swore by top load. Now they try to determine your load size and when I over-ride and set for a deep water level, I have to ask for an extra rinse and even then I have soap debris and need to rinse again. Thought I had the best, largest top loader... Had a front load previously and moved from it because no matter how many times maintenance was done on it, it would vibrate so hard I couldn't leave home while doing the laundry. I'm going back to the Ole' Washboard LOL
*Your New Ride*
😆😆😆
Culver’s has a great kids meal and you get an ice cream. Nothing more beautiful than a west facing lanai if on a pond. how, beautiful.
Culver’s is the best!
I ate a kids meal at Culvers. His mom got really angry.
@@mkulseth52😂
Loved the show. Great content. That dog was amazing. Living his life like any other dog. We will probably both be taking small part time jobs down there for larger unexpected problems. Probably a few days a week. Gotta head out to charge the battery on my transport.
🙂🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🙂
We have a west facing lanai, and yes, it was often too hot to sit out there in the afternoon. But we installed a motorized shade this past Fall and it’s wonderful.
The gorgeous Florida sunsets make it worthwhile 👍🏻
Our lanai also faces Meggison (a busy road) with a multimodal path between us and the street. Most people would prefer more privacy, but I love it. I wave at people walking their dog, riding their bike or driving by in their golf cart. 👋🏻 And if I lower the shade halfway, I can still wave at passers-by and still not bake in the sun.
Oh, and we have that same Ryobi handheld air pump. It really comes in handy as the tires on the golf cart and eBikes tend to deflate more than the tires on the car.
And we were at Brownwood last night, listening to the Greg Warren band … a good crowd. The bands here are all so good 🎶👍🏻
There was an article in this morning’s Daily Sun about speeding on Morse Blvd, calling it an “expressway” 😳 There was a meeting about it at Everglades. Someone suggested lowering in speed limit from 45 to 35 MPH, but those in a hurry will still drive FAST. And you’re right, the Turnpike is worse. If you go 70, some cars will pass you like you’re standing still.
Oh, and I got it
(… but doesn’t have the range of the alternative) 😉
We went to Mt Dora on Saturday for their art festival. Unfortunately, we got there about 1 o’clock, and EVERY parking area was “FULL” 🙄 so we left. But on the way back we stopped at the TWISTED BISCUIT in Tavares … highly recommended 😋👍🏻
They only serve breakfast & lunch.
It’s not far
We always appreciate your great commentary, Mike. 🙂🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🙂
You did it again ... made Marna and I smile and laugh while watching Mail Bag Monday!! I guess Linda came up with the word jumble this week (current topic for her!!) Thanks as always!
😄🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆😃
Jerry, I think you should look around for some resin steps. Maybe you could find some so that Linda would be able to easily access a top-loading washer. If the steps are made out of resin they would be easy to move around. (wood would be too heavy).
Good idea! Thanks for the tip.
Some other unexpected expenses that a newcomer might not be aware of is home pest, termite, fertilizers & lawn care treatments unless you do your own that adds up.
Things to Peter's Bubble Wrap today I'm going to buy that handy little tool.
Thank you. 🎉
Loved Holly's segment. Well done.
❤❤❤
Thank you Mike 🥰
Top loaders forever
My folks were at brownwood on Friday sorry they missed you.
I agree with Lynda about the washers
Gators Dockside in Brownwood is excellent. I love their Key West Turkey Burger ❤❤. They have a loyalty program too.
Hello from Alaska!!! We take four of our grandchildren to Lowes for the monthy crafte and then to McDonald's for lunch. We don't usually get the Happy Meals---for that exact reason. However, we do buy them icecream and allow them as much time as they want in the play area. Love your show. See you when we get there!!!!!
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
$7.19 I can cook an 8 oz stake with potatoes and a vegetable for that price!
I bought the commercial grade Maytag washer and dryer 10 years ago and the pair is simple but very solid and will see how long they last?
😅I love watching your videos, and always good content. The only thing about that type of community is : there are always COUPLES. WHENEVER I am in that type of presents it’s awkward and uncomfortable as a single person.
I am short too. I use a little step stool to get my clothes out of the washer 😂😂
So do I!!!
Always had top loaders but recently purchased Samsung Bespoke front loader washer & dryer. Clothes come out much cleaner with my new Samsung washer.
Glad to hear it's working for you!
I just love the pet of the week. ❤
Thanks Antonia!
I liked that fridge Jerry and Linda! Great for Costco or BJ trips!
The fry package cost more than the fries. McDs, just toss a scoop of fries into the Happy Meal Box, forget the fry package to save money.
Greetings from Ireland!☘️ Love your show. 🙏
So glad that you are watching us over in Ireland. We will be there in about 6 months! Can't wait.
@@JERRYANDLINDA Thanks, it’s a pleasure! Your show is great. Have a fabulous time in Ireland. Check out the ‘Riverdance’ show at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin. ☘️🙏
FYI the actual tool Peter was using is made by Ryobi and they aren’t available at Lowes. They are available at Home Depot. I have the exact same one and it works great. I highly recommend it! Enjoyed the show, thanks!
We have that same one as well, but they were out of stock and not available on Amazon.
@@JERRYANDLINDA I understand. I was just clarifying that you can’t buy the Ryobi brand at Lowes as stated. Didn’t mean any harm. Thanks!
Good show, as usual. Just wanted to let you know that I bought a Yamaha gas golf cart.
They are very reliable!
@@JERRYANDLINDA I was kinda hoping to get a few gold trophies for letting you know I bought my gas golf cart.
Easy word scramble. Peter has one too. 😂😂 Great show as always
🙂🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🙂
I have my mom's Maytag washer and dryer. They are probably from the 80s and they are so simple. Set it for 10 minutes (or whatever or perma press cycle) and the tub fills completely up, it washes spins, rinses with a full tub, and spin. I didn't like my new washer. It made so many noises, the lid locked and it took forever to do a load. Older Maytags (before Whirlpool bought them) is the way to go.😁😁
Yes Indeed❤New washer and dryers top or front don't hold up or compare.
I figured west-facing lanais would be great for those sunset views.
Just a friendly correction. It's not pronounced "hoers de orvs" it's pronounced "Oar derves". @26:49
Appreciate your show, the insights and information.
Costcohas a freetire fill station. They havenitrogen instead of compressed air, so your tires won't inflate/deflate due to hot/cold weather.
Good job Wally on your introduction!
A lot of these retirees that are in such a hurry haven’t figured out what retirement is about. Slow down enjoy the ride. Pay attention to the accidents that happen most are speed related. They’re still on work time or leave little earlier.
We agree! Slow down and enjoy the ride!
I think the guy that yelled “F’er” meant Frogger. He wanted you to play Frogger in the traffic, Jerry. Floridians are so polite!😊
Love your videos!
❤❤❤
Front load washers are just fine for average soiled clothes. We haven't had anything else in Europe for the last 40 years. But we don't really wash in cold water.
I know there is a hack for LG washers where you can adjust a screw to increase the water level.
Front loader washer work just as good as a top loader. You think your clothes are dirty they are not just need to be freshened up and a front loader does the job.
Regarding clothes washers> Read Consumer Reports product reviews of agitator and high efficiency machines. Many pros & cons for both top and side loaders. Many brands made by the same companies, to hit a quality/price point. Pays to shop around.
Good advice, thanks!
Jerry and Linda, take the grandkids to DQ. For $7 you get a hamburger (or 3 piece chicken), fries, a drink AND a sundae! Most of their customers are seniors from the Villages.
We will give that a try!
What a great video Jerry and Linda! “I got it” right away! Mark in Iowa.
🙂🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🙂
The Tesla Bubbles is putting 44psi air in is high because he’ll get better range but he’ll get about 20-25k miles on his tires. This is to get higher range to keep owners from complaining about low range. Elon is no dummy at Tesla owners expense.
