I loved this. Rogue One and Solo are the only 2 of the Disney Wars films I've enjoyed but every "serious" reviewer seems to hate them both. I really enjoyed watching this, thank you so much for posting it for us.
According to Metacritic, Rogue One and Solo both averaged B- from critics. That's good but not great, which is what I think Solo was, I think Rogue One was great, or at least pretty close to it
Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars film period. It’s the most real and believable. The original trilogy next, followed by the prequels (yes, the prequels), and worst of all is the (unoriginal) reboot so far.
It's one of my favorites but not my favorite. Too many individual moments that make me cringe. Also, the original trilogy, the first two films in particular, is just so good. The filmmaking isn't as good, but the storytelling is just unbelievable, some of the best storytelling ever. I agree with your ranking of the prequels and sequels though.
An excellent exposé! A very well made and well fleshed out commentary of a hidden side of Star Wars which I have never thought of! I was read your answer on Quora and you intstantly caught my interest! Keep the interesting videos coming! :)
Thanks! I appreciate the comment and am glad you found my video. I have a couple more in the works and some others up already, so you can check those out until I get my next new one up. Glad you enjoyed this one!
I recently found your channel (yesterday to be accurate) and maaaaaaaaaan, im obssesed! i´m doing a marathon from your videos because you leave me thirsty to know more about films! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I liked Solo, but it unfortunately doesn't add much to the SW universe, because most of what it would have added was already shown in Rogue One. That being said, the war scene in Solo was really powerful, and added a ton to SW for me.
Really enjoyed the breakdown. Just because I saw your other video titles, “Die Hard. Christmas Drama Masquerading as an Action Film.” You’re gettin a subscriber just because of that.
To be honest, this movie is a first Star Wars movie that I watched, I don’t even watch the original trilogy. But yes, this movie, like you said, explains to me so much abt their sacrificing for something they trust. This movie really touched me and one of my favs.
Children of Men is a fantastic film. I want to make a video on it, but when I first tried, I got overwhelmed. I will make a video on it at one point though
I agree this is an excellent movie, I truly enjoyed it, the message, the plot, but I wish I could say the same for the force awakens and the last jedi. The force awakens at least made me feel like there was still a little of that "essence" star wars had before, and I had actually enjoyed it, but the last jedi completely let me down plot-wise, and taking everything in a strange direction that I felt was totally unnecessary... I will still see the upcoming movie, but I don't think I can say I expect much.
@@MoviesUnderTheSurface Neither of them even lived up to the "hype" they put into star wars fans. They took something people valued so much and turned it into something so simple and predictable it felt like a parody
Its nice to see a positive look at a movie that is largely underrated.
Thanks! I don't know why people don't like this film more. It's an excellent film.
Why are you not blown up yet? This is some quality content!
thanks! I'm trying!

thanks so much! I appreciate it. And please share with your friends!!!
Interesting take, man! I wonder if anything shown in Solo (especially some of stuff on Corellia) would be classified under this too?

lol, thanks! I actually just changed the title of the Die Hard video because I didn't like the old one. Looks like I did the right thing!
Awesome videos, this is already my third in a row. Congratulations and thank you for them!
thank you as well!

you should see the original trilogy!
@@MoviesUnderTheSurface i already did! It was awesome! But for the last three movies, i like the force awakens best
@@MoviesUnderTheSurface anyway, i really like your essay videos. Your explanation is simple and easy to understand
@@nadakartika2456 thanks!

I've watched a few of your videos and I'd love to know your thoughts on Children of Men.

I loved it. I even go as far to say its my favorite. I get the dirtiest looks.
its up there for me. definitely the best filmmaking in the Star Wars universe, but the storytelling of the original trilogy just cant be beat.
Wow i love this
thanks! I appreciate it!
I just love it and I agree as I also said that in quora.
thanks!

Force Awakens is one of the most disappointing and infuriating movies I've ever seen. I didn't even see Last Jedi because of it.

@@littledrawingfan totally agree. It was like a parody. I felt insulted in the theater
