I absolutely love this video! Everything about it... The music is a great jam (burnin one to it) and the track construction is beautiful. It's an awesome track layout. I would love to have that in my backyard.
Thanks man! For just the surface dirt needed to cover the grass, we bought 7 sq. yards at $22 a yard. Then the bobcat work was $100. Then all you need to smooth it out is a lawn roller, which you can rent from Home Depot for $16 a day. That's all without jumps, which we needed an additional 5 more sq. yards.
Thanks, Georgia red clay is very absorbant! We've soaked to whole track with the hose after and it only made it smoother! But the real test is when it rains... I'll post an update if it does.
I think I'm gunna try and make a track at my buddy's house, don't think I'll beat any buddy with my truck tho, just got the traxxas raptor svt, it's my first truck, just starting to get into rc trucks.
As entertaining as that was, the 70's adult movie toon got a little old after a while. Three days of sweeping dirt, that kid must have done something really bad. Seriously, that track looks like a blast!
Nice!!! Is the soil water absorbent? Our track floods when it is raining and it takes some time for it to dry. Thinking about digging some holes on the lowest parts (where the water stays) and filling them with pebbles.
I watched this a bunch of times - it is excellent. I am going to be building my own track. I just purchased a piece of land 22,000 square feet and we will have a house built on it. Out of curiosity, what are the dimensions of this track ? I'd like to do something that is around 30 x 75 feet.
Thanks Peter, glad it was helpful. Seems like you have the perfect chance to make your own track. I'm pretty sure ours has a 70ft straight, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll measure it and get back to yah.
That shouldn't be too hard. You'll have to take a dremel or rotary tool with a cutting/thin sanding disk and cut a little notch/slot into the screw. Then just take a flat-head screwdriver and it should come right out.
Is that just straight clay? Or is it mixed with something? Having a hard time deciding on material for my 60 by 90 ft track, not something I wanna do twice lol
@@logan-booth486 Nah, it's pretty easy if you're just making something simple for 1/10th scale stuff. You actually don't even need heavy equipment. Just lay out the track using some corrugated tubing secured with metal stakes, spray the inside of the track with some non-grass-friendly weed killer, build up the jumps by piling dirt over some supporting cynderblocks and bob's your uncle. You could build this over the course of a weekend. It only becomes difficult and time consuming once you start building for 1/8th scale vehicles, since those tracks tend to be more complex with bigger jumps and other features, or if you want to use specialty dirt like Georgia red clay.
Building mine at my farm! Finished about half of the trail today, tomorrow in doing the banks and the jumps, and finishing it all up and smoothing it! Make sure to check mine out on my channel, and no offense but it will cooler and larger than this one. Btw loved this vid, keep it up!!
on my slash 4x4 I stripped the spur gear but one of the bolts to take off the rear end is stripped is there something I can do to get it out or a special tool to do it?
im making my own rc track thrue my self but leon and my mom will help me with the track but my mom's had a mind grand last time but In sted for helping mom feel better is me but no mind grand at all this time so my mom is feeling better right now.

Awesome work guys. Sign of a true RC lover.
Yes! My little brother and my dad helped us build it. The Losi SCTE is my bother's and my dad has a Jamin SRT10, you'll see alot of racing!

coolest parents ever!!!
Very nice!
It's an easy way to smooth out the dirt. It also helps when to track gets dry to increase traction.
We do that all the time, heavy equipment & all. That was 👍 but here in Fl. space is best reserved for a pool. 🍺😎✌
Thanks alot! Still working on the jumps, might need 1 or 2 more weekends, but it will be done and uploaded before Christmas!
Nice job guys
That's pretty cool, good luck with your new truck!
AWESOME MAN

Thanks! just finished another jump yesterday, so the video should be up by the weekend!
Thanks! The track is about 600 sq. ft. We got the bobcat work and all the dirt at $1 a square foot, a great deal!
looks sweet
Thanks, Georgia red clay is very absorbant! We've soaked to whole track with the hose after and it only made it smoother! But the real test is when it rains... I'll post an update if it does.
Nice man
when is the next video going to be up? Looks awesome!
Hallo what 5hr name it the long black pipe??
I would suggest Gens Ace Lipos, very cheap and good quality batteries, I have 4. You can order them from HobbyPartz for $30 each.
Just sayin it would have been a lot easier to grate your yard with a tiller
I think I'm gunna try and make a track at my buddy's house, don't think I'll beat any buddy with my truck tho, just got the traxxas raptor svt, it's my first truck, just starting to get into rc trucks.
Thanks, as you saw we worked really hard on it!
As entertaining as that was, the 70's adult movie toon got a little old after a while. Three days of sweeping dirt, that kid must have done something really bad.
Seriously, that track looks like a blast!
We used Georgia red clay, one of the best kinds of dirt there is!
I sugest tampering it with a tamper you can rent them from lowes

Nice one DO u have someone to race with ?
Do you have any suggestions on batteries?

I thought you were going to make a fake rc track
man that is a really sick track how much money for all of the stuff you did to it
That shouldn't be too hard. You'll have to take a dremel or rotary tool with a cutting/thin sanding disk and cut a little notch/slot into the screw. Then just take a flat-head screwdriver and it should come right out.
Ya'll must really like rc to do that
No problem, the whole track is 70 ft. wide by 37 ft. deep.
Thanks man, will do!
skidster skilllllz!!!
Is that just straight clay? Or is it mixed with something? Having a hard time deciding on material for my 60 by 90 ft track, not something I wanna do twice lol
What kind of dirt was used and how much did it cost in the end minus the bobcat
Thanks
how far are you from Lansing. was looking for someone to run with or at. niceee track
They're 9 and 1/2 at their widest and 7 feet at their narrowest, but the average is 8 ft.
Thank you :)
Where do you get the tube barriers from?
Home Depot. We used 3, 4'', 50 foot roles of drain pipe to line the entire track
and you are the best ytber
hello, it's okay if I build the track in my back yard I'm from Sweden so my English is bad
What is the dirt you are using?
gens ace, got a 7.4 5000mah 40c for $28
How many meters has your backyard ?
are you guys near lansing mi?
What kind of dirt is that
thanks
what kind of dirt did you use
I have 100 acres and want to make a nice size track but have no access to a bobcat got any tips besides that
Jon Ragan you can use a tiller or just a good old fashion shovel and rake
See if you can find others in your area that are keen. Maybe someone knows a landscaper or has ag equipment.
a shovel rake and come along is a good way to shape land
What kind of hose or tubing did he use?
+Katie Witzell It's just drainage pipe
lol Always trying to get in the way..
I'm 9 and my parents said I could make a rc track in a week :)
ikr lol
Sure. Sure. Sure.

How many feet of piping did you use?
We bought 3 - 100ft roles from Home Depot. That covered the whole track perfect with no excess.
CyconXc
how much in total did it cost ?
Yah, you could say we're addicts ;)
How much did it cost? Looks expensive, to be honest. Like, not super epensive, but I'm sure it cost arond where an RC would cost.
how wide are lanes
If you live near Augusta GA I would like to use it
What kind of sand / soil you used ?
/dirt
Marcello Cucchi It's GA red clay.
Cyconxc where i can buy it ?
Marcello Cucchi I live in GA so it's everywhere lol.
Cyconxc Sorry, because i live in italy this is the problem
