The longest strike in SAG-AFTRA history, its combined impact with the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike resulted in the loss of 45,000 jobs, and "an estimated $6.5 billion" loss to the economy of Southern California. According to Deadline Hollywood, the "harshest pain" was "perhaps felt among the below-the-line workers who've had to sell or mortgage their homes, and wipe through IRAs to survive." Along with the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike (which ended on September 27, 2023), it was part of a series of broader Hollywood labor disputes. Both the 2023 SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes contributed to the biggest interruption to the American film and television industries since the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In addition to standing in solidarity with the writers, the strike was led by changes in the industry caused by streaming and its effect on residuals, as well as other new technologies like AI and digital recreation. It marked the first time that actors initiated a labor dispute in the U.S. since the 1980 actors strike and the first time that actors and writers have walked out simultaneously since 1960.
Congratulations! Next theater workers who get the lowest wages and benefits allowed by law. Some guy reading my posts, thinks working at a theater doesn't deserve a fair wage and shouldn't be considered with WalMart and fast food places. He said all we do is shovel popcorn in a bag. Here's what I say I don't see much difference from a factory job where you do the same thing over and over and our job - and we have to do it at night and on weekends - specially now when most factories have better air conditioning than old theaters. AND we have to work with the PUBLIC! Why should film industry make millions and we can't even get full time work, benefits, etc. Movie workers are in the same boat as WalMart and Fast Food. No difference. And corporations have squeezed the American worker, such that we can't even afford to buy their product. I can't afford going to our movies for example - if I had to pay.
It’s because your position is probably replaceable and takes little to no skill. If you hate your job so much go to trade school, learn a useful skill and get another job
Im glad its over now the actors and actresses will get back to work.
Just remember. It was an actor that killed Lincoln.

Nobody but New York or California care
You wanna see tv or movies again? So yes others should care
So TV show productions can start out probably on Monday
Oh christ. Finally.

Good riddance! Now Hollywood can get back to work making movies and TV shows!
Actor strike, 😂 there replaceable, this is what robots are for
It is "they are" or "they're", not "there". A robot would be better at grammar than you are.
And you need a robot to teach you how to spell.
