This is horrific. I know someone who has gone through this experience and she ended up being so broken emotionally she wasn’t herself for a few months. It was bad. I hope many people dont through this experience.
There is an actor who is NOT on facebook. He found out that there was person pretending to be him. He reported it to facebook and talked to somebody with facebook. He demanded that they take it down. Did they NOPE.
If people like these are asking you for money, alarm bells should be ringing in your head. Most of them are millionaires, especially Phil Nickelson, who has MBS as his sugar daddy. Even Today show regulars are pulling in at least 6 figures. Please use your heads.
I think a lot of the victims of this are older people who might be in the early stages of dementia and don't realize it yet. It creeps up on a person slowly and it can be hard to realize when it's happening because it can affect people in really weird ways and they can seem pretty normal to people who don't know them well, for a very long time. And they think they're fine and refuse to admit anything is wrong with them. I think whenever a person over a certain age falls for something like this, no matter how healthy and functional they seem, they should be required by law to see a doctor and get tested. I don't know how they could do that, but it needs to be done, for the sake of their adult kids who really suffer having to clean up their parent's mess. The kids need to take legal control over the parent's bank accounts and power of attorney if something like this happens. It's similar to the situations where they have to take away their parent's car once they have an accident and prove that they're not safe to drive anymore, even though the parents think they are. That's what I think this is.
I seriously cannot believe that people really think that wealthy celebrities need money!! I am shocked that even when shown that this is a scam, some people don't believe it. It is so sad.
For those who blame victims, you do not understand human beings. Scammers, being very evil they do and they play on it and they can manipulate even the smartest because it is not about being smart it is about ،being fragile.
Got a imposter scammer through Facebook pretending to be Country Music Singer and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood and of course Country Music Singer Sara Evans too and believe me hate imposter scammers like this!
Fake News. Listen...when Harrison Ford messages you at 3 AM and says he's trapped in Nigeria and needs about a dozen $100 Amazon gift cards so the soon-to-be-exiled prince gives him his passport back, you'd help him! What if that was your father?!
The problem is facebook doesnt shut down those accounts when reported. Both of my parents are lonely and live alone and have starter talking to fake accounts and are convinced they are the real celebrity. It's incredibly frustrating that they are not thinking logically, but this is what happens as people get older. Their judgment and rationality start to become impaired.
It is a shame that she, her daughter, and others are going through this situation. It is time to pass laws making fake accounts illegal in the United States. This situation explains why I quit social media and do not use social media anymore.
Stay in your league people. If you are old or out of shape, be honest with yourself and accept that this person your speaking with is probably a scammer
What does being old or out of shape have to do with being scammed? Anyone can be scammed regardless of what you look like or how old you are. Your logic is if someone is young or well maintained, they are talking to the person? It's gullible or vulnerable people who get scammed. Not just old or out of shape. That's shallow thinking.
Why can't something be changed about this. Why can't social media do something different especially celebrities .there shouldn't be 15accounts of john doe . I know someone that this happen too.its ridiculous
We have to bring up too these scammers are now using AI technology. My mom got taken with one of these scammers. Lost 5 grand. She showed me the messages that were sent, scammer was good enough to make a video that looked like the celebrity was thanking her personally using deep fake. Used voice changer in audio recordings to make it sound like the guy too.
I was contacted by "Denzel Washington" last month🤣😂. He never asked for money, though, because I knew it could not have been real. Why would Washington reach out to a middle aged woman in rural Wyoming???
First of all, Thanks to GrindTechiei for making the work environment so friendly and taking your withdrawal responsibility seriously and completing the work gracefully. You deserve so much. Your team does what they say they are going to do and their ,ethics are of the highest quality’.
My question is ..when would a celebrity ask for gift cards or bitcoin??
Because they are deluded
Since when do celebrities need money? They get stuff for free.
This is horrific. I know someone who has gone through this experience and she ended up being so broken emotionally she wasn’t herself for a few months. It was bad. I hope many people dont through this experience.
These are very wealthy celebrities........shouldn't they be sending you money rather than the other way around?
There is an actor who is NOT on facebook. He found out that there was person pretending to be him. He reported it to facebook and talked to somebody with facebook. He demanded that they take it down. Did they NOPE.
Scammers impersonate ANYONE to get your money!!!!!! 🙄🙄
Seems like Meta could prevent profile pics and account names that are celebrity names 🤷♀️
No celebrity is ever going to ask for money.
Some people are sick! Posing as celebs!

Lot of evil out there
Ticketmaster a total scam
How can someone smart enough to have 290,000 dollars be stupid enough to lose it like that?
I seriously cannot believe that people really think that wealthy celebrities need money!! I am shocked that even when shown that this is a scam, some people don't believe it. It is so sad.
These celebrities made plenty of money with whatever career they have. People should realize that it’s fake.
This is victim shaming!
@@joebrenner4428 I can’t tell if you’re joking or not
It's 2024, you cant be that naive to fall for these scammers
@@emmaohlsson7964 Do you think only savvy adults use the internet?
@@emmaohlsson7964 You sound like one of these crazy people making all these fake profiles

Victims? You can't be that naive
It Happens a lot on the social media, too many celebrities getting impersonated. Just know where to go when u get in these situations
I know people who lost through these medium
I see people talking about apexchargeback before
And not a single social media platform is going to do anything about it..
How can Meta help. The have no customer support. You can not reach them
This is another reason I stay far far away from social media
Me too and use to have Facebook and Instagram but don't have it no more due to imposter scams now!
It might be an undercover cop becareful.
Sometimes it could be
It could happen on dating apps too! It could be terrifying
No idol worshipping!! God warned us all ! It’s a sickness

So many of these scam stories on the Catfished YT channel….it’s surprising to me how many times it’s a celebrity imposter.
This is not your fault? Thats why this is happening bc IT IS YOUR FAULT

After you lose your life savings & become homeless, don't feel bad because it is not your fault.
It's partly your fault 😂
@@emmaohlsson7964No it’s not her fault
If you give all your money away to some stranger on the internet, it is indeed your own fault to a certain degree.
Maybe a little sarcasm there.
@@balfrey1982 Maybe. Or maybe I'm just summing up the moral of this clip.
We been knew this. The only people into it are the old or not so smart.
I agree, you cant be that naive
Report it to who? What agency? Local police department? Then what when they say, they can help you unless you have lost money. 😒
I had 15 David Draiman imposters in the past 2 weeks. lol
I had 5 Carrie Underwood imposters and of course 50 Sara Evans imposters too!

Because that's not his problem though, she gave away her money by herself
