I think heroism dominated the actual soul behind the movie…Rana is a gud choice ..But in case of Pk if some mid range hero has taken into consideration it will have worked out well bcz unnecessary songs and scenes wouldn’t have added to script ..But for those who didn’t watched original and for pk fans it satisfies..

In original malayalam movie there is nothing like hero or villain. Both characters positive and negative traits are portrayed equally...and was very interesting what they do next scene thats why I loved it .. I expected this when actors were revealed for telugu version that it will become hero and villain version what ever i expected which will be in movie in you revealed it
Agree with you. I watched it in Malayalam long back. It had an interesting screenplay, characters and acting. but when its remade with our big starcast, obviously it becomes commercial. Trailer proves it. Ideally they shouldn't have picked that movie at all. or they should have sticked to the original characters instead of adding their industry Heroism..
Telugu movie actors forgets the fundamental reason why an actor becomes a star. Kalyan became a star because of the story lines and newness in narration, Gokulamlo seetha, Suswagatham, Tholiprema, Thammudu and Kushi were hits not because of Kalyan's stardom. They became successful because of the story line and the screenplay. Lately all the stars including new people like Vijay D and Sharva forget they are actors. Its simple if the actor identifies himself as a star then thats it. The times have changed audience have access to lot of content these days, Rama Rao, Amitabh, Rajini, Chiranjeevi days are gone, where same story told repeatedly millions of time with minor variations. Ayyappan Koshiyum, Agnathavaasi are great story lines but the treatment was terrible solely because of unwanted elevations, meaningless hype of the star. First thing the Indian media especially telugu media should stop using the words like Hero and Heroine and replace them with actor. Then the actors identity will returned as actors and they will act rather than portraying savior complex.

I haven't really seen Bheemla Nayak(have seen the original though) so I won't comment on that but I personally feel that Kaithi No. 150 is a really big insult to Chirangeevi sir and the movie Kaththi, he is coming back to the industry after a decade and its his 150th film and they weren't able to think of anything but a remake and they also butchered the movie, I was a big fan of kaththi and it was literal torture to watch the movie in theatre's. Love your videos anna, and I hope you can do more reviews.
Absolutely agree with all the points here, naku casting so-so anipinchina Sagar Chandra director kabbati had huge hopes on this, but trailer chuse telisipoindhi Sagar Chandra name edho for name sake ee ani, Trivikram as usual did his Trivikramization, which usually works out but ikkada very detail oriented film with layers on layers for each character kabbati Trivikramization ended up screwing what the original film managed to showcase incredibly Genuinely feel Sagar Chandra's version would've been way way better.

Performances by PK and Rana were great tho, script entha dilute chesina vallu performances mathram taggale.

I watched both original and remake.. I am partially convinced by your points. But please watch Director Saagar K Chandra's interview with GreatAndhra.. He says that the prime objective was to cut down the runtime. You also spoke about force fitting songs. They have removed a beautiful melody song cuz it could slow down the screenplay. But you are right, manavallu hero ni devudilaga chupinchadam maneyali... There are movies that tried and succeeded too like Rangasthalam and Jersey but only a countable number. Hope this changes soon!

Watched Ayyapun Koshiyam(AK) after Bheemla Nayak today. I felt exactly the same. Manchi scenes theesesaaru. Konchem illogical cum extra scenes add chesaaru. First half lo 2 video songs ni galeez chesesaaru. Second half saved the movie . Thaman anna the biggest pillar of this movie. But aa teaser bgm ni(gala gala gala bheemla...) endhuku vaadaledho ardham avvatledhu. Overall super hit for first time watchers. After watching AK, it will be like above avg.
With all due respect to Pawan Kalyan, Venkatesh should have done the role of Ayyappan Nair. The chemistry would have been much better and there would be no forced heroism. OF course, if you did not watch the Malayalam version, you may like.

I watched the original, going to watch the remake. I expected this while watching the trailer and I might like it because we are used to watch the ''so called remake movies with commercial templates''. We are so into hero worshipping and that might be the reason why many of the original lovers did not like the remake. I agree what you said but you know, audience, to major extent, like the way this movie was made. They have their own conceptions and expectations on how their hero's role should be. If you give us best Hollywood movie with very original screenplay to our family audience, many might feel bored. We might take some time, probably years, to wholly accept a flawless movie without having unnecessary songs, situation less comedy. You might point at some movies like Ghazi which don't have any commercial elements and still accepted by audience. I agree but such movies are aimed to cater niche segment of people who really loves original storytelling. No one even dare to do a film with superstars without some stuff like comedy and songs. If so done, Our Audience will ask that why this so big movie lacks songs and they says action portion is over weighted. No offence to our audience or any other, just expressing my views.

no offence I watched the original 3 times and i am a big fan for it. after seeing the triller of the telugu remke i literally watched the original movie again due to the dilution of the core content of the movie even by now the original triller gives a big high than whole telugu movie....

to be frank, i've not seen Malayalam movie till now, but when I watched Beemla Nayak movie, I never felt both PK and Rana characters have the same balance in good and bad. PK is shown as a hero and Rana as a villain.

Bro.. Valid points only if Bheemlanayak released directly in OTT where people can enjoy sensibilities by pausing and watching movie in couple of days without feeling lag and boredom. The big hero movies in Telugu is made only to entertain fans who come to theatres expecting their favourite hero performing super hero acts with no logics. Days are gone when normal audience and family audience coming to theatres. If a movie is released in theatre it is strictly to cater hardcore fans and their unrealistic expectations. Other can avoid watching movie in theatres. Both characters positive and negative traits are portrayed equally...and was very interesting what they do next scene thats why I loved it .. Telugu movie actors forgets the fundamental reason why an actor becomes a star. Kalyan became a star because of the story lines and newness in narration, Gokulamlo seetha, Suswagatham, Tholiprema, Thammudu and Kushi were hits not because of Kalyan's stardom. They became successful because of the story line and the screenplay. Lately all the stars including new people like Vijay D and Sharva forget they are actors. Its simple if the actor identifies himself as a star then thats it. The times have changed audience have access to lot of content these days, Rama Rao, Amitabh, Rajini, Chiranjeevi days are gone, where same story told repeatedly millions of time with minor variations. Ayyappan Koshiyum, Agnathavaasi are great story lines but the treatment was terrible solely because of unwanted elevations, meaningless hype of the star.
First thing the Indian media especially telugu media should stop using the words like Hero and Heroine and replace them with actor. Then the actors identity will returned as actors and they will act rather than portraying savior complex.

I haven't really seen Bheemla Nayak(have seen the original though) so I won't comment on that but I personally feel that Kaithi No. 150 is a really big insult to Chirangeevi sir and the movie Kaththi, he is coming back to the industry after a decade and its his 150th film and they weren't able to think of anything but a remake and they also butchered the movie, I was a big fan of kaththi and it was literal torture to watch the movie in theatre's. Love your videos anna, and I hope you can do more reviews.

Absolutely agree with all the points here, naku casting so-so anipinchina Sagar Chandra director kabbati had huge hopes on this, but trailer chuse telisipoindhi Sagar Chandra name edho for name sake ee ani, Trivikram as usual did his Trivikramization, which usually works out but ikkada very detail oriented film with layers on layers for each character kabbati Trivikramization ended up screwing what the original film managed to showcase incredibly Genuinely feel Sagar Chandra's version would've been way way better.

I watched both original and remake.. I am partially convinced by your points. But please watch Director Saagar K Chandra's interview with GreatAndhra.. He says that the prime objective was to cut down the runtime. You also spoke about force fitting songs. They have removed a beautiful melody song cuz it could slow down the screenplay.
But you are right, manavallu hero ni devudilaga chupinchadam maneyali... There are movies that tried and succeeded too like Rangasthalam and Jersey but only a countable number.

First half lo 2 video songs ni galeez chesesaaru. Second half saved the movie . Thaman anna the biggest pillar of this movie. But aa teaser bgm ni(gala gala gala bheemla...) endhuku vaadaledho ardham avvatledhu. Overall super hit for first time watchers. After watching AK, it will be like above avg.
With all due respect to Pawan Kalyan, Venkatesh should have done the role of Ayyappan Nair. The chemistry would have been much better and there would be no forced heroism. OF course, if you did not watch the Malayalam version, you may like.

Edit 1(forgot to add): flashback was used well but the taking of it is disastrous(if they're adding it as new then they better be sure it's worth it which in this case it's not)

to be frank, i've not seen Malayalam movie till now, but when I watched Beemla Nayak movie, I never felt both PK and Rana characters have the same balance in good and bad. PK is shown as a hero and Rana as a villain.

Bro.. Valid points only if Bheemlanayak released directly in OTT where people can enjoy sensibilities by pausing and watching movie in couple of days without feeling lag and boredom.
The big hero movies in Telugu is made only to entertain fans who come to theatres expecting their favourite hero performing super hero acts with no logics. Days are gone when normal audience and family audience coming to theatres. If a movie is released in theatre it is strictly to cater hardcore fans and their unrealistic expectations.
