Lady was a tough category. Lady Bunny is a famous drag queen, Lady Slipper is an orchid (flower), Lady Finger is a cookie typically used in tiramisu, Lady Marmalade is a song title, Lady Bird is the common name used for President Johnson’s wife. The final two, Gaga and liberty are more well known.
Here's the original Lady Marmalade and yes, it got covered for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack: th-cam.com/video/t4LWIP7SAjY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=y6RpjDap74Fem8w0
You didn't go back to the cheesy clue. It's as well to know that made is EDAM backwards ( for the big crossword ).I'm sure it will come up again ( along with vowel filled GOUDA ).
Connections, got the rainbow with 2 mistakes. I also had to try the A blanks together when down to blue and purple. Mini, Ozone saved me as well 😂 Strands, I have to disagree with you, sir...that was HIGHLY enjoyable to watch. I was cracking up at your reactions. Even more so when you wondered if the whole puzzle was just terms for giving someone the finger 😂😂😂😂 I kinda want that to be a future puzzle 😂 Love the dad jokes!
On Strands I saw the category was front women and then I immediately saw Lady Gaga so I didn't lock it in because I wanted to get a Rangsk perfect. I sat there for 18 minutes because I was sure the 😊category was about female singers based on having found Lady Gaga, and I couldn't convince my brain to see anything else.
Connections was really tough today, I got the yellow and the blue and then came to a screeching halt. My sister and I had to look up hints to get through it and we still didn't understand purple.
On Connections, I never thought of the category for purple, wasn't sure of the members of blue or green, and wasn't certain yellow was going to be right, but somehow didn't make any mistakes. In Strands, I saw LADY GAGA immediately, thought it was going to be the span-a-gram with the other words being words from titles of Lady Gaga songs, and then was very surprised when it didn't lock in.
Failed connections today, down to blue and purple with just 2 mistakes left Strands was easy for me because I found "liberty" and promptly found "lady", which I quickly figured out was supposed to be "ladies", the rest was easy, even if I don't know the reference like "marmalade" or "bunny"
Originally released by Patti Labelle. Some of the lyrics: Hey sister! Go sister soul sister go sister. Getcha getcha ya ya da da getcha getcha ya ya here Mocha chocolata ya ya creole Lady Marmalade. Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir? Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?
Ladybird is what Americans call a ladybug. I got that first and it unlocked the puzzle for me. Ladyfingers are like sponge biscuits, they are used in tiramisu. Lady slipper is a flower. Lady marmalade is a song. I know it from the Moulin Rouge movie but I think the original is from the 1970s. I know Lady Bunny from watching Drag Race.
Strands was super weird. Like you, I've only heard of ladybird, lady gaga and lady liberty. I got connections by dumb luck. not a great day for NYT puzzles today
Did not enjoy Connections today. Thought for too long that one of the categories was Encanto related before I realized other meanings for MADRIGAL. Strands took me quite awhile; felt like it took some out of the box thinking. Connections: 🟩🟦❌️❌️🟨🟪 Mini: 1:08 Strands: Rangsk Perfect

Some of those are deep cuts!
Ladybird is also the UK term corresponding to US ladybug.
@@iabervon Lady bird is also a slang term for a kept woman or a mistress. I feel like that's an old-fashioned use, though.
Here's the original Lady Marmalade and yes, it got covered for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack: th-cam.com/video/t4LWIP7SAjY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=y6RpjDap74Fem8w0
Yeah as someone who bakes likes orchids and drag queens I felt very lucky with threads today 😅really tough one
I was the one who asked you to do the dad jokes on TT lol I am honored
I'm glad you did and that you're here!
You didn't go back to the cheesy clue. It's as well to know that made is EDAM backwards ( for the big crossword ).I'm sure it will come up again ( along with vowel filled GOUDA ).
Love the frustration on strands. I went through the exact same pain. Knew marmalade, gaga and bird. The others were a mystery. 😂
Lady Marmalade is a song from the group Labelle ( the 1970s ) , A lady's slipper is an orchid I think , lady fingers are small long sponge cakes?
Absolutely LOVED the new section 😂
Book titles instantly stuck out today! I love the dad joke!!! Maybe say your favourite of the week on Sunday?
Totally failed Connections, but glad to be able to help some on Strands: "Ladyfinger" is a biscuit. "Lady slipper" is an orchid.

Connections was hard today! Had to guess the a's when I was down to blue and purple too... but got there in the end.

I only got yellow on Connections. I don't agree with "Certain" meaning a Handful of. I think that was a bad category.
Failed connections today, down to blue and purple with just 2 mistakes left

Nice going on Strands!
@Rangsk thanks! Love the addition of the dad jokes btw
English not being my first language and not being American makes the games 100% harder. What is lady slipper 😅 and I had no idea about the _is _is

Yep that's the one!
When does a joke turn into a dad joke?

When it becomes apparent!
Love that one!
Lady fingers: crisp (no added fat) cookies/biscuits. Lady finger is also a name for okra (exciting mucusy vegetable).
Hello 👋 first time watching you on here from TT
Welcome!
No mistakes on Connections today, pretty happy about that. :>
Impressive!
Loll I love dad jokes!! Keep it up 😂

*what British people call 🐞
ETA I think you could read your first sentence two different ways, so feel free to ignore me.
In this context Id say Lady Bird is president johnsons wife's nick name.
I did exactly the same gesture to my son with the bump the table clue. Also couldn’t think of its name 😂😂
😂
loved the jokes! my gov. teacher used to do this
“Things I need to get: a life “😂😂😂💀
I completely bombed Connections. Only got yellow and green. lost my 60 day streak 😭😭😭
I used so many hints for strands. I was not understanding at all
Blue and Purple: The End of a 19-Day Streak
A solved Connections with 2 errors. I did not name the purple.
Strands was super weird. Like you, I've only heard of ladybird, lady gaga and lady liberty. I got connections by dumb luck. not a great day for NYT puzzles today
Tough day for sure
I did much the same chasing green. Couldn't pull it out of my Rangsk like you always manage to do. 😡
Helps to have a Rangsk 😂
Hi from TT
Welcome!
Maybe you can take a dad joke from a subscriber for Sundays
Trying not to add more bookkeeping to my content but otherwise a fun idea!
