Texas gas pipeline fire causes thousands of homes to lose power

- A natural gas liquids pipeline caught fire in La Porte, Texas, knocking out power to thousands of homes and businesses and prompting nearby evacuations.
The fire occurred at a valve station on a pipeline used to carry NGLs, according to its owner, Energy Transfer.
The company also said it was aware of reports that an unknown passenger car entered its right-of-way and struck the valve location.

The pipe is full of liquified natural gas. They have ends shut off but several miles of pipe full of gas must boil off and vent.
I remember reading about how, despite being one of the main suppliers of energy resources to the country, Texas has some of the worst energy infrastructure among all the states, hence why sht like this keeps happening there.
Like the idiots they are Texas decided to privatize its energy grid and they then basically made it a Monopoly. So I just point and laugh now.
Their electrical infrastructure is bad, that's why they lose power when it freezes.
That car there... it hit the pipeline valve. Drove off road, through two fences, and hit the only thing out there.
