  • In today's episode, we'll explore a pressing issue that's impacting businesses of all sizes-the shortage of skilled accountants. More specifically, we'll focus on how this shortage is hitting small businesses even harder and how a solution like outsourced finance departments, such as Accountable Numbers, can help alleviate the problem.

This isn't true... I got 2 degrees.. in accounting and finance. Most places want people that have 5 to 10 years of work experience and internships are hard to get. They grab the ones with 4.0 gpa and 5.0 gpa which are mostly asians.

Thanks for listening! Actually, it is true. There was an 18% drop in accounting degrees over the last 6 years, leading to a smaller pool of candidates for businesses to hire. Take a listen here: th-cam.com/video/E_4YoQYqSf8/w-d-xo.html

I don't believe it! As a skilled black man (and certified accountant), I could not land a job to save my life. I REFUSE to apply even when they say there's a so called shortage. It will just be more of the same...

How much they pay for an accountant

@@hakeem0341It varies. Maybe $70,000 with reasonable qualifications?

you're a cpa? Yet, you cannot get a job? If you're a black man you can contact NCCA and get them to sue the big 4 accounting firms. They have to give you a chance by law. There's mostly white people and Asian people working for the big 4 .

@@AccountableNumbers I am an ex-Certified Management Accountant. But please bear-in-mind that I am also a black man!
So, are you telling me that if I apply to enough big accounting firms, there is so much backlog that I would almost certainly get hired?
They can't afford to be stupid about it - especially when I am actually qualified. Is that what you are saying?
