Enjoyed this but no disrespect..Gymshark is still fast fashion. I'm not at all criticising, I have bought leggings from Shein and I get my underwear from Primark. Any fashion company that regularly pumps out new releases etc., it is fast fashion. I'm not commenting from a moral high-ground as I know its all still fast fashion, and I still buy it. But I think that we need to be transparent around the garment industry, very few companies are not fast fashion (even Tala that brands itself on being sustainable). Want to reiterate that isn't a criticism on you at all - its an industry wide problem that consumers have very little control over, we all need activewear right!!
Hey lovely!! No worries at all, I think with sustainability it's good to have really open conversations about it! I do completely see your point. I think what I mean really is with brands I work with now I'm far more selective and weigh up the sustainability of my purchases based on the product produced so for example Gymshark, the product is such high quality, it's a product you will have for years that by promoting it I know my followers (if they choose to purchase it) are buying product that is more sustainable for them and the environment as it won't have a wear or two before ending up on landfill because it's fallen apart like some other companies! Maybe using the term 'fast-fashion' companies didn't really allow me to go into more detail about what I mean with the companies I select to work with but it's obviously a shorter video so less time to explain and give context! Essentially I am just choosing now to work with companies I feel produce high quality, more sustainable pieces and distancing myself from those who don't ☺️ not claiming to be a sustainable queen and get it right 100% of the time but just trying my best to help in any ways I can! I hope that makes a bit more sense!
It was refreshing to hear you saying that you won't take sponsorships for fast fashion. Wish more influencers shared that viewpoint!
