In the first 3 months of 2022 Shell reported having profits 3 times that of 2021. That means they and the others have raised the prices artificially. Congress is working on a bill that would punish price gouging.

When the bridge was completed, it was said that the bridge would be free when the bridge building costs were paid. It cost 25 cents to cross and now $18. It's a way of continue to tax the working people. Taxes, fees, income; It doesn't stop. But, taxing the big conglomerates is a no-no. When the cash lanes were in place people paid they removed the cash lanes saying oh it will be better but it was a lie it was done to further tighten the noose around the neck of the middle class it’s sad so sad the toll is less then 20$ but the fees are triple that and that is what buries people not everyone can afford an ez pass because of the way they work if you use it every day like I do I can’t afford the replenishment but I could pay the 16$ but that was taken away now I am messed up as well I pay for a car I can’t drive my registration is suspended I owe 4,000$ in tolls but 12,000$ in fees how fair is that. It’s a scam and sad sad scam and the worse part I pay right now between tolls 30$ a day cash because of the increases and that doesn’t include the 16$ from the Holland. And the best part I don’t even live in New Jersey I stay in Jersey to protect my mother who is elderly and I work for a city agency with a population vulnerable to covid I actually live in queens New York. It’s sad just sad to milk the hard working people this way then have these representatives of the agency come on tv and act as if they are crime fighters. As the taxpayers of this County and state I would demand the amount of money that the toes are bringing in for the purchase of this bridge. This bridge is probably been paid off 10 times over. And then I would sue city state officials.

IF they actually came up with an overall website where you can search by plate number, for ALL tolls (including MTA), regardless of which state you drove through, it would be so much easier to determine which ones you owe on. The amount of snail mail from those sources makes it so overwhelming and difficult to figure out if you might be looking at the same toll. They need ultimate TRANSPARENCY. I think it’s intentionally OBSCURE, so they can add their hefty fines. We need help.

I always thought it was stupid to make people pay that way while traveling but if you know you gotta pay and you don't, you face consequences. If you're not participating in commerce on the public road you are not required to have a driver's license🙂The public roadways are free for everyone as a matter of rights📜 you don't need a driver's license, registration, insurance, inspection, or license plates to travel in your private automobile or any recreational/private way of traveling 🤔In law there's a clear distinction between Motor Vehicle and Automobile. LOOK UP Constitutional law 329 page 1135, Title 18 U.S.C. Section 31(a6), New York State Article 21 General Provision Section 21.05 #9 or in any STATE❗
