      Well if no one goes there then no one will ever see it! They went there to show us how cool it is. Otherwise you'd never know. They're not hurting it by being there. Not like it'll be there forever anyway.

    Captain Jack Sparrow: World's still the same. There's just less in it.

      There's an upside to this story! The cave is located in the middle of Vietnam, which was heavily bombed during the war. The surrounding villages were incredibly poor up until the 90ies. Now, thanks to the discovery (it was a joint operation by some Brits and the locals) hundreds of native people from the area can earn a living through sustainable tourism, send their kids to school, get healthcare etc. The surrounding area has been declared a national park, which is why this is one of the very few examples were tourism actually helped to preserve nature, while creating jobs.

      Hi guys, I'm Vietnamese and I'll correct the information that if the Son Doong cave is protected.
      In the past, there were many cable car ride projects intended to build in Son Doong cave. Then, the Viet Nam government has signed an agreement not to touch anything in Son Doong for 50 years
      But the local government recently (about 3 days ago) research the Son Doong cave for another cable car ride project of FLC group.
      You can find the detail reason (in English) in this link: www.change.org/p/stop-cable-car-construction-to-son-doong-cave and help us to sign to this petition.
      It's too embarrass to say this but we, the Vietnamese, need your help a lot since the government never or hardly listen to their citizen, they just want to earn benefit for themselves (the corruption in Viet Nam).
      Thank you for your supporting. I'm not good at English but I hope you guys can understand what I said.

    • @wind4lie
      @wind4lie 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      The government is trying to build cable car ride in Son Doong cave to profit from local travelers. And that will destroy the ecosystem in Son Doong. I can't understand how blind they are. Our scientists were tried to explain about the harmful effects of cable car ride, but they didn't learn any lesson, all they want is money !!!! Such an idiot government!

    My question is this if it was recently discovered who makes the laws to stop people from going in. 1 person discovers it but a country takes it over? What and who gives them the right to do that. If the country claimed it they should have discovered the cave a long time ago. Not to be taken away from someone and charge a hefty fee for people to explore it. My other question is if I went there in the middle of the night who would stop me?

    • @Anubis2134t
