The single greatest scene in Eastenders history. I remember everyone in my school talking about the previous episodes cliff hanger when Grant is about to get out of the car and he hears “you slept with him” and the ending drum beat. We all thought he was gonna do typical Grant and go in swinging. But this was so much better.
Me and my sister reenacted this from reveal to arches it was so powerful even to hyper kids, i was what maybe 8/9 and she was 5 🤣 i offered to be phil and get thrown down the pit. The pit being off the end of my mums bed. Nobody was hurt cos we were playing at reenacting the scene not fighting.
@@gemmaaboagye8951 so it is ok for Sharon to humiliate Grant but not the other way around? Actions have consequences, it doesn't matter what your gender is. Why aren't you equally disgusted with Phil being humiliated anyway? Because he's a man he doesn't deserve respect? Women who blindly defend other women's disgusting decisions tend to be equally untrustworthy and deceitful. Good luck with that. I truly hope you don't have sons if that's your attitude.
mustafa karwa That's because they where, even Phil abs Carol where only in their early to mid 30's. I think Sharon always looked abit older than she was cause of the way she dressed and dolled herself up, she would have been in her mid 20's here!
I saw this first time around on TV nearly 30 years ago. Still remains one of the most shocking moments on Eastenders the way Grant marches in like that and plays the tape with that crazed and raging look on his face.
jonwiley She'd have only been in her early 30's then, then again she has aged relatively well if you ask me she doesn't look bad now seeing as she is in her mid to late 50's.

EastEnders was never this good again...I mean, 'Sharongate' has its own Wikipedia entry, not to mention it's own '-gate', which I don't think any soap anywhere has achieved and I'm sure I remember the story making news.
The fallout from this story was epic - not just in the short term, but long term - Sharon was essentially the reason Grant treated Tiffany like crap during their marriage, Phil turned to booze and Kathy finally ditched Walford. Sharon's sins were still impacting Walford long after she left! She was like the other legendary blonde Cindy in that respect - just blowing lives apart around her, however unlike Cindy, Sharon was somewhat oblivious lol.
i don't think Phil turning to booze was a result of this;it was more that Phil always had to be the center of attention and when Ben came he got jealous and bitter that Kathy was giving Ben attention.
