Building New Lombard Road

UM Construction Engineering Technology students today cleared a site for our new Lombard sled pavilion and began pulling stumps and rocks for the new Lombard road. They used a beautiful Wacker Neuson ET65 excavator generously loaned by Central Equipment Company.

So I know they didn't have excavators 100 years ago so how do you figured they build these logging roads without them?

Hi Jacob, back than they would have used horses and scoops. they would cut stumps off flush and fill in low spots etc. with cordroy since they would build up a nice snow road they didn't have to get it perfect.
