2:31 You can see that one Animal Feeder can potentially feed multiple Animal Shelters, although I guess that assumes you can keep it full. (Keeping animals fed gives you Genetic Traits when you pet them, and increases their multiplier depending on the food you use; regular food works at a pinch.)
I think you might need a Genetic Trait - Skin Pattern to be able to use a Genetic Trait - Skin Pattern Colour.

The Ecosystem is the best way to get butterfly larvae for the Genetic Trait - Colour A. (And the Plants is nice, as you noticed later.) Variants are normally only found in loot, so maybe you should try some more Procedural Wrecks. Petting does count as loot though, and once you have an animal with a rare Genetic Trait then petting that animal has a chance of giving you another copy. Golden Seeds are technically your worst source of bioluminescence as the other ones are at least repeatable (as you found out with the Golden Butterflies).

Great Video, I have fallen in the lava a few times, gotten stuck and died. when you die in the lava you dont get your stuff back, total bummer, the little guy is obviously pinkie, or something like that. When you cant find your animals take them out of the shelter and then put them back in, they are then close to you. Also they eat a LOT of food, so you need to fill those feeders up.

That just goes to show how dumb of a decision that was for me to jump into the lava hahaha
Pinkie would be a good name for the little one!
I will have to test that and see if their growth resets if I take the specimen out of the shelter and put it back in.
Yeah... I'm really going to have to find a way to ramp up the animal food production.
