Mary Fields

Born a slave in 1832, Mary Fields was one of the most colorful, respected, and beloved pioneer women, and an integral part of the history and formation of Toledo’s Ursuline Convent. She later became a western legend as “Stagecoach Mary”, one of the first women in this country to deliver the U.S. mail.
