Thank you so much for the video, Hiro-san! It was just in time because I finally will have some medaka eggs arrive tomorrow and the day after. I am ready to become a medaka mom! They are adorable and beautiful fish and I look forward to having medaka of my own to care for! Aregato gozaimasu! 🙂❤
Thanks for this video Hiro! I'm having some trouble raising my fry. I have some fry indoors and outdoors in totes. But they are barely growing after reaching half adult size. I have a single medaka that hatched later than the others and already grew to adult size and producing eggs (grew in small outdoor container with water hyacinth). About 1/3 of my indoor medaka also have long curly white stringy poop hanging. Am I not feeding enough? Not doing enough water changes(less than once a month)? Does the white poop mean disease? I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment! White poop in medaka could indicate that there is an underlying issue. You mentioned that you aren’t doing frequent water changes, and this could also be contributing to the problem. Please carefully observe the water conditions and pay attention to how the medaka are swimming. Also, keep in mind that the amount of food you give and the frequency and volume of water changes are closely linked. I plan to introduce this topic in a future video. I hope your medaka aquarium goes well!
@hiros_aquarium thanks for your reply! Yeah I noticed them not growing very fast so I fed a lot. I also noticed them spitting food and not really wanting to eat. Some of the ones with white stringy poop swim a little erratically. I've been medicating the food and doing water change frequently to clean the bottom. I think they are better now.
@@hiros_aquarium I got some new medaka yesterday and put them in a new tote. I saw white stringy poop on a fish and on the bottom today still. Maybe I'm just not feeding enough?
