counter, 1 piece chicken meal is 99 pesos. But i do agree with it being overpriced. 4 usd/200php can gett you 2 piece chicken meal hear in the philippines
That's literally what difference in ECONOMY and STANDARD OF LIVING does. I'm a filipino living in the philippines, and while I do agree Jollibee in america is expensive compared to other fast food chains there, it's straight up STUPID to expect their prices to be the same as the origin country. Let's put it this way, PH has far lower cost of living compared to america. If a whole chicken here costs 2-3 u.s dollars at most, then expect that price to be double or even triple the price if you're getting a raw chicken in america. And that's price is what's 'normal' for them, but 'expensive' if you try to convert that in philippine peso.
If you're Filipino or around a lot of Filipinos, you know a lot of people who "can make chickenjoy at home" and that surprisingly often they actually can. I see going to Jollibee as mostly a novelty for the packaging and atmosphere as well as being able to bring it up in conversation (I have a bland personality).
Im filipino but why are THE PRICES SO EXPENSIVE?? I know its probably inflation but its way less expensive here in the philippines you can get a CHICKEN HERE FOR like 1.79 for a 1 pc
Even in the PH. Their portion sizes are getting smaller and more expensive. McDonald's actually now has a chance to beat them at home turf, more and more are switching
Jollibee needs to hike their prices because they cannot practice their illegal 996 work culture overseas. In the Philippines, workers render work 6 days a week, 10 hours a day
@@BTx789 working there or not, everyone in our country knows the abysmal working conditions of that place. If its not you personally that works there, you definitely know someone who does. It could even be a family member. Thankfully in this new era, slowly more people start making less trouble for the workers because wlthe public is being educated how hard their shifts are but they cant afford to quit. by being more patient, cleaning up after eating or at least arranging the trays and plates, etc etc
Regional pricing differences can be obvious lol, they probably can't make the same percentage of profit as their Phillipines operations otherwise. I do agree that's very much on the pricey side for chicken though.
It’s Filipino spaghetti so it’s sweet, but it’s not bad. Not the biggest fan of sweet though so I personally don’t go out of my way to get it. A lot of people seem to like it though.
@scottulbrich5376 not entirely, a six peice at $30 doesn't go directly to the worker. If you sell $3000 an hour, doesn't mean it goes directly to the employees. If corporate has millionaires than most likely they raised so they make a sharp increase to their own profit.
Come here in the Philippines, it's expensive and the chicken parts are small AF! Ever heard of rib part? it's ribs with little breast meat and just pure breading if you buy an 8pc bucket half of it will be rib part
He is based in US and also you don't expect a country to have the same prices as its origin America has a higher standard of living and higher pay so its normal for American's for a 6 piece to be 30 dollars sure its going to be a little more expensive but again their pay grade and wage is way above Philippines that's why Philippines is way cheaper it pays less has a lower standard of living

Jollibee is a lot cheaper here in the Philippines but at the same time the size of fried chicken is bigger, I guess it's only expensive in a specific country not just because of them having different currency but also because of the amounts of raw materials used in it. But I would assure you, Jollibee is the best here in the Philippines and I hope you'll give it another shot, maybe other choices on the menu like Jolly Spaghetti, Burger steak, peach mango pie etc.
@@cr1spher recent sizes of chicken in Jollibee shares the same size of kanto fried chicken here. It is more worth it to buy a chicken from Uncle John or Andoks than buying from Jollibee.
The pricing is the way it is because labor is actually the most expensive thing into making food. Labor is roughly constant whether you order a little vs a lot. If you order small quantities, it’s not worth their time so they punish you by making it more expensive. Another way to look at it is they reward you for buying in bulk. Jollibee is niche market in North America, they don’t have the scale of operations as McDonalds or like what they have in the Philippines.
Yeah Jollibee has become too expensive even here in the Philippines. I used to eat at least 2x a week now I don't even eat once a year. It's just not worth it. It's cheaper to buy a whole chicken in the market and deep fry it yourself.
Hmmm, I dunno... You gotta factor in the price of the ingredients you'd need to flavor, bread and fry the chicken, plus how much gas or electricity you're gonna use when cooking it, plus the effort and time it takes to buy the ingredients and cook, oh and the price of the oil you use in your car when going to and from the market place or if you take public transport the fee you pay for that...
Agree getting expensive eating in Jollibee nowadays. I hardly eat in Jollibee . We only eat there when there's a birthday celebrant. Mostly, we do home-cooked meals
If I remember it right when I ate this in their Chicago store, 6 pieces with two drinks and 2 mash potatoes is like 20 dollars or maybe 30 dollars, tax included, which is enough to feed two people. I don’t think it is overpriced
@@lynzhu6934 No joke, I can buy a 20 piece in Texas for cheaper than that 6 piece. Even better I can go to a Mexican restaurant and eat better food there for cheaper.
It's just supply and demand, though. If people want prices to go down, control your cravings. That's pretty much it. The same's happening to mcdonald's. Either they're exploiting the popularity, or they have to compensate for the demand.

Let's put it this way, PH has far lower cost of living compared to america. If a whole chicken here costs 2-3 u.s dollars at most, then expect that price to be double or even triple the price if you're getting a raw chicken in america. The pricing is the way it is because labor is actually the most expensive thing into making food. Labor is roughly constant whether you order a little vs a lot.
