Great clear concise video! What is the bath you dipped the ring into right after oxidizing it? Is it a baking soda solution to stop the oxidizing from further colorization?

Why the oxidizing flame? Makes me cringe... how do you avoid firescale.

Why Renaissance wax? Doesn’t the oxidation just get darker anyway? It won’t wear off in the recesses.

Can I borrow your tools? For just one day. Please. Seriously though excellent work and well done video. I came across it because I am making a ring from scrap for my father for Christmas. I will just be using a soft charcoal block with a cut out to melt the scrap and hammers to help further shape the shank before soldering because i lack most of your tools. I do have a little smith torch, mandrels, foredom and all of the hammers, bits, and hand tools I need but I'm just a hobbyist and your tools make me envious! I do think there is something about doing it the way I am that will make it a meaningful gift though. Great work!

High I like your videos it is very clear ! I have a question how do you call the wood tool you use when you do the polish ? You don’t take the ring in your hand it is like a wood clamp. It’s so hot for me, so burning !!! I would like one .how do you call this ? Where can I find this ? Many thanks 🙏
