I don't care how many years go by, this is still THE greatest grand finals, and arguably the greatest series period, in cs history. Being in the arena was one of the craziest most surreal experiences I've ever had. I was 13 at the time and its still one of my greatest memories.
I do agree that this was the last great major final, but I also think the series is greatly helped by the occasion while there are better series that just won't be rated as highly because it wasn't a major final where the underdog made a historic comeback. FaZe vs Navi Cologne 2022 grand final is probably the greatest series I have ever watched. Heroic vs Gambit EPL S13 grand final (not celebrated because it was online, but both teams played near perfect cs) is up there as well. Come to think of it, Furia vs Navi ESL Rio Major 2022 quarter finals was also a banger.

On one side you have faze who were practically guaranteed their first major, and would've solidified those 5, more specifically niko karrigan and guardian, as the best in the world (where they should've been that year). But on the other side you have a team that started off terrible and had to run an entire do or die gauntlet to make finals. NA never winning a major before and doing it in that kind of fashion only added to the hype of the finals. Not to mention on home soil. Plus wasn't this the first major (or event even? I cant remember) that the "legends, challengers & champions" stage format was introduced? So not only did C9 run an entire gauntlet, they did it in a brand new format. And ofc the fact that niko and guardian never won majors after this. It's all subjective ofc, but it probably wouldn't ever be ignored in anyone's top 3 at least.
All the one u mentioning besides the 2018 c9 vs fake clan didnt go to all 3 maps and double OT and that was 1st time a major went to double OT in a win all or go home. You dont know what greatest means smh @daveauburn1561
