The void could also show what you want to see most, artificer sees her children despite the fact they probably reincarnated (before being echoed, if there is a more happy ending for her I havent seen it yet), survivor sees its home and many other slugcats, monk finds survivor, hunter meets an iterator who holds it and hunter was created by them so it likely wanted most to not disappoint its creator, and in the void sea sees its creator accepting it like family, etc. This is all a theory, but it would explain all the endings relatively easily without much to disprove it.

I assume Survivor found the tree, it was empty, lived there for a while, and Monk eventually came back after looking for Survivor, only to find out that they found their way home.

My guess is bc either they aren't from the tree surv, monk, & gourd r from, so there's no reason for them to go there; or so much time has passed between those 3 n riv's place in the tl it simply doesn't exist anymore. You can actually see hunter in gourmands campaign if you fail a Hunter Run from running out of cycles and you don't ascend. It's.. Very shocking and gruesome to say the least.. Still can't tell if that's blood or something else..
The gourmand is genuinely really fun to play, I love the exhaustion they have after throwing a spear, it really makes you plan out how to handle encounters much more

I lost the ending of livestream because i needed exit on the half but man this ending left me in tears So i bought the game a while and still not beat as survivor So resuming now i will bought downpour stop playing as survivor beat the game as gourmand to unlock the good ending to survivor and monk because i like good endings :) Suicide is bad do not comet suicide

Funny how Five Pebbles offends Gourmand, the smartest of the slugcats, literally the only being of flesh capable of fully understanding iterators and the culture of the Ancients. (Not to mention make a weapon of mass destruction from food and rubish).
I love the fact that all of the Slugcat campaigns are at different points in the timeline. It's so cool seeing each of them interacting with the world in it's various states. Particularly, I'm excited to see Spearmaster and Saint as they occur at the start and end of the timelines. My guess is that in Spearmaster's, Five Pebbles has little if any rot and Looks to the Moon is actually functional. This would also be the first time either of them meet a Slugcat. As we see in Rivulet's campaign, Ruffles lets Pebbles die and uses his core to recharge Moon allowing her to function again. Given this, Pebbles will be dead by the time Saint rolls around, and Moon will be well in functional order again.
I didn't even realize the Gourmand had a different ending. I went straight for ascending. But while I was swimming around with the gourmand clones, "Game Over" appeared on screen, and nothing would happen. Had to just press the menu button to respawn. I assumed the Gourmand just... couldn't ascend for some reason, so I started trying to figure out how to beat its ending. Kinda glad I got that game over bc I would have just moved on to the next slugcat not knowing the awesome new areas that I had to go through and the new endings
One time I accidentally speared a garbage worm so the others got angry, one grabbed me, launched into the air and got bodyslammed, I didn't even think it was possible

I never really used the body slam and crafting abilities too much- (except for that one time I crushed a random lantern mouse midair)- it’s nice you enjoyed them ^^. I liked them but just accidentally forget about them 😭. The ending punched me in the gut, and seeing Survivor and Monk both get endings from that area is heartwarming!! I’m so glad they did that aaa 😭💕💖!! Good ending :)⭐💫✨. Anyways it’s almost a crime you skipped the hellish leap in Sunken Pier (unless you didn’t include footage of that…but I bet you would because it is h e l l) as many Gourmand players had to endure it XD. From your experience (or at least what’s shown here) there seem s to be an alternate way and I wish I would've found that because it would’ve spared me hours 👁👁. But ah well haha, not really mad 🤷. Glad you enjoyed it haha, I did too, and it’s wonderful Survivor and Monk both have endings (and art!!!) :)💖💕.

It’s my personal head canon that all that mass is not fat, it’s muscle. Despite his size he can muster up some insane speed. You can slide into an enemy to damage them, kinda like a sumo wrestler.

Three times as much damage as survivor and over twice as much damage as Hunter, the slugcat with the second highest spear damage in the game.
Given Gourmon's abilities to pull literally anything out of his stomach, in addition to his absurd physical power, makes me believe that he is at least partially fictitious, and the only slugcat to be like that.
But at the same time, completing his campaign DOES have an affect on the map for slugcats that come after him in the timeline, meaning that even if his exploits and abilities were partially made up, he did exist and at least do the main quest.
wait I'm still REALLY confused about the timeline here... So first is Hunter, then survivor, then monk, then gourmand, then artificer, then rivulet, and last spearmaster. is that right?

Monk's ending actually shows the ending that happens if you return to Outer Expanse as Survivor with Slugpups! I saw a video the other day showing that the ending changes- you get to see Slugpups eating the fruit while Survivor lingers Didn't realise that Monk's Outer Expanse ending shows that, so thats a neat happy ending where they get to be a family
You actually called the subtext for what's actually going on in this campaign with the thumbnail, and I'm ashamed I didn't leave a comment complimenting it sooner. And don't let the Gourmand's exaggerated mechanics distract you from the stuff it probably did accomplish. Surviving, finding happiness, and paving the way for others to do the same makes the Gourmand every bit of the unlikely slugcat savior they're painted to be, even if synthesizing living creatures from other species and _liquid void_ are blatantly non-canon.
My theory as to why the slugscats in the slug tree don't die during the rain, is because the sheer amount of plants that are in the area suck up all the water before it can get to them.
Five pebbles gives up on keeping the slugcats out when the fattest one possible makes it to his chamber.
He just sees the fifth come in and gives up and tells it how to go kill itself

Glad you enjoyed the Gourmand experience!! I never really used the body slam and crafting abilities too much- (except for that one time I crushed a random lantern mouse midair)- it’s nice you enjoyed them ^^. I liked them but just accidentally forget about them 😭. The ending punched me in the gut, and seeing Survivor and Monk both get endings from that area is heartwarming!! I’m so glad they did that aaa 😭💕💖!! Good ending :)⭐💫✨. Anyways it’s almost a crime you skipped the hellish leap in Sunken Pier (unless you didn’t include footage of that…but I bet you would because it is h e l l) as many Gourmand players had to endure it XD. From your experience (or at least what’s shown here) there seem s to be an alternate way and I wish I would've found that because it would’ve spared me hours 👁👁. But ah well haha, not really mad 🤷. Glad you enjoyed it haha, I did too, and it’s wonderful Survivor and Monk both have endings (and art!!!) :)💖💕.
can you show what happens if other slugs like hunter go to the tree? im curious to see what happens to him given his fate is to die
Hunter cant go there yet since the way is blocked since gourmand hasn't talked to pebbles in that point of the timeline and neither artificer since they are before hunter
And some of them are so far into the future that the way is destroyed

It’s my personal head canon that all that mass is not fat, it’s muscle. Despite his size he can muster up some insane speed. You can slide into an enemy to damage them, kinda like a sumo wrestler.
It'd probably what it is, a healthy layer of fat with strong muscle underneath, he's rotund but he's also POWERFUL
@@adrianrandom3448 This is also supported by the fact that, at least on the initial throw, he does significantly more damage with spears than any other slugcat. Three times as much damage as survivor and over twice as much damage as Hunter, the slugcat with the second highest spear damage in the game.
Given Gourmon's abilities to pull literally anything out of his stomach, in addition to his absurd physical power, makes me believe that he is at least partially fictitious, and the only slugcat to be like that.
+he doesnt appear in his own ending, only a story about him
But at the same time, completing his campaign DOES have an affect on the map for slugcats that come after him in the timeline, meaning that even if his exploits and abilities were partially made up, he did exist and at least do the main quest.

Gourmand is earlier than monk or survivor because he unlocks the path to slugcat tree for them in the future
Ok so rivulet does have 3 endings then... Right?
@@KillSwitch0447 for some reason, Rivulet cannot go to the Slugtree because the train line to it is broken. Hopefully Saint can, still waiting for that stream.

@Cain Thomason I'm guessing saint can't ethier, saint is after rivulet which would make the bridge even more destroyed than in rivulets.
The crafting is actually really op because karma flower + grenade + grenade = nuclear/anti gravity bomb.
Monk's ending actually shows the ending that happens if you return to Outer Expanse as Survivor with Slugpups! I saw a video the other day showing that the ending changes- you get to see Slugpups eating the fruit while Survivor lingers
Didn't realise that Monk's Outer Expanse ending shows that, so thats a neat happy ending where they get to be a family

You actually called the subtext for what's actually going on in this campaign with the thumbnail, and I'm ashamed I didn't leave a comment complimenting it sooner.
And don't let the Gourmand's exaggerated mechanics distract you from the stuff it probably did accomplish. Surviving, finding happiness, and paving the way for others to do the same makes the Gourmand every bit of the unlikely slugcat savior they're painted to be, even if synthesizing living creatures from other species and _liquid void_ are blatantly non-canon.

You get slug pups via completing the food quest and it unlocks it for gourmand survivor and monk
My theory as to why the slugscats in the slug tree don't die during the rain, is because the sheer amount of plants that are in the area suck up all the water before it can get to them.
Went through sunken pier while PASSING FLYING SQUIDS and ended up dying 28 times here with no progress
I know why the Gourb has live creatures in them!!! They eat the eggs of those creatures and then the eggs hatch and there's whole ecosystems in there.
