This guy, Abe Laboriel Jr., is an absolute animal on the drums. And.... sings really really well. Did you see the size of those drumsticks... he attacks that poor drumkit. I absolutely LOVE this song. Seen it performed live and I cried all the way through. Shock, wonder, love, amazement, whatever. It hit me....hard.
This is music........ Good music!!!!! What a fantastic performance!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a energy!!!!!!!! Sir James Paul McCartney, Mr. Rusty Anderson, Mr. Abe Laboriel Jr., Mr. Paul "Wix" Wickens, Mr. Brian Ray and ALL their collaborators: Welcome to Bogotá!!!!!!! One Sweet Dream will come true next April 19th!! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, All good "children" (People) go to Heaven!!!!!! Thanks You Lord; one of my biggest dream will be fulfilled!!!!
Ever since I first saw this DVD i've always thought that this particular performance of this song was the best one i' ever seen/heard. It's just so much rawer, louder, and rocks harder than any other version of this song.
Heck, it ain't nobody, man ... just the greatest rock star in the whole world. It's official! That's actually in The Guinness Book of World Records! This is why he's there, right? Peace ... starts with a smile! FoJ
Vicki: Paul McCartney live and in concert, Tampa, Florida, USA in 1990. I was there. He did this song. OMG, it was far and away the best concert I've ever seen in my life. Words cannot express how superb, sublime and sensational that show was. One of the high points of my life, really. Wish all of you could have been there. Peace.
I have always loved Paul McCartney, but when i bought his "Back In The U.S. Live 2002" 2CD set I fell in love! I recommend it highly!! It has this song on it! I love the part where he says(then screams), "I wants to tall ya' that you're going to be mine!" Ok, Paul ,sure! :)
Amazing song live. Band is super tight, Paul's vocals are great, the energy of the crowd adds to the intensity, and Abe absolutely KILLS pounding them drums. What a performance! The one dislike needs electro-shock therapy or some kind of exploding cigarette or something
Love all the smiling faces of the people at the concert and how many of them were singing along. Three songs from the Band on the Run album got massive applause:Jet, Band on the Run and Let me Roll it. Awesome
Although this was the third or fourth song he performed when I saw him, it felt like an encore. Everyone on their feet screaming and moving, truly brought the house down.
I saw Paul do this live in OKC 2002 and I can tell you this drummer likes what he does and he does it well. Great show, great song. Eat that today's Top 4o trash.
EVERYONE IN THIS BAND ROCKS THIS WORLD HARD, THE DRUMMER TOTALLY AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY IS MY FAVORITE. NOT TAKING ONE THING AWAY FROM ANY OF THE OTHERS BUT I LOVE THIS GUYS HEART THAT HE PUTS INTO IT. I CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE OTHER THAN thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
Drummer myself, & this guy is over-playing the shit outta this tune....he was probably instructed to do just that by McCartney......original song is much more subtle than this.....
Intense. The drums must have been bad because that drummer sure opened up a can of whoop ass on them. Amazing stuff all the way around. That crowd was so much in a state of joy and captivation. Wish I was there.
You're right. Here are some more of Pauls gospel songs: Let It Be and With a Little Luck. We actually sang Let It Be at catholic church services and one guy told me that he survived a horrible childhood by singing the song With a Little Luck to himself.
I saw this tour in 2002 after having seen Paul in 1990 and 1993. I left the previous tours somewhat underwhelmed. "Where did the magic of Paul go?" Like he does time and time again, he shuts the naysayers down. He did so with me on this tour. I lost my mind as to how much he f'n ROCKS!
I am so in this video!!!! I was like 10 or so in the front row with my mom. I am so proud to have my face in the same place as Paul's...especially since it's a moment caught in history FOREVA!!
Great great song. In my opinion, I love the laid back blues version done by Lake Street Dive even more! I'm always amazed to hear a great song done in different ways! Thanks for the great song Paul!
The Absolute Master: Heart & Soul Incarnate! The Grand Legacy of the 1960s ... real music ... for real people ... with real hearts. A Spiritual Orgasm! Sorry, gotta tell it like it is. Peace ... FoJ
hell yeah! the best concert ive ever been was a paul mccartney concert! the place just exploded when this song was on and that drummer is a real total baller!
Timmy Lee you haven't been listening to enough music :) there will always be shit around. When you hear shit, go listen somewhere else! To start you off: Jake Bugg and Jang Kiha and the Faces are both cool and worth checking out. The former being an English singer songwriter with definite Dylan influences in there and the latter being a Korean band with very interesting Beatlesque influences. Have fun with that to start with!
Abe is the greatest drummer in the world - a force of nature.
Every musician in this band is putting their heart and soul into this song!!! Roll it.

One of the best songs ever written. It will never get old and will always be fantastic! And yes, Paul looks good. Even from the back. ;)
I love Lennon and the Fab 4, but Wings stole my heart mind and soul Forever.

You're right. Here are some more of Pauls gospel songs: Let It Be and With a Little Luck. We actually sang Let It Be at catholic church services and one guy told me that he survived a horrible childhood by singing the song With a Little Luck to himself.
That drummer is so good. He was playing drums when I saw Paul McCartney a few weeks ago. He is powerful.

I agree ...today's music is largely horrid compared to the music I grew up with in the 1960's and 70's.

One of the best songs at the time, it was actually released as the B side of Jet.
