Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.

I think a reason for the costume change in Ireland’s act was to show what demons they were fighting.. as a non binary artist, Bambie has had demons in the past with gender and to transition into the trans colours to finally defeat the demon was poetic for me. But I understand the witch outfit was fantastic and how you felt it wasn’t necessary.. anyways, a 10/10 performance and act
I learned again Jan : sell it authentically. You want a concert sell it as a concert or you keep it simple but very eyepleasing. Ukraine was the wow for me in everything from song to staging to lights, everthing was a beautiful blend. I still like Croatia but it was messy to me. Sad for Australia, but something was missing on stage to give the happy feeling from the song. I am happy for Serbia, the staging was not perfect, but still the right feeling of the song. I have a softspot for Slovenia, so yes some parts where beautiful and some a mismatch but Raiven has such a beautiful voice she had to qualify and she did, yesss. And I didn't know but one of her dancers is Belgian hahaha so double yeaaaaah. ❤💯💥👋👋

That poland didnt went through shows that diaspora is not a machine. And that poles outside of poland didn't like her or the song. Like Greece last year who had all their allies in their semi but got basically zero points. But I think no poles expected something different, thats it.
Croatia/Cyprus the best in this semi, for me. 👍👍👍
Polands staging was such a mess, Luna is very sweet and this song is not terrible (well a little bit 🙈) It was so confusing to watch it was like they were trying to fit every single promt and effects in 3 minutes my ADHD is still suffering 😂😂

Thanks for super interesting videos!!! You say you think Sweden will make the top 5, but the odds don't seem to have much faith in Sweden. They're not even sure they'll be in the top 10... Maybe Sweden doesn't get that many phone votes, but the jury usually gives high scores and Marcus & Martinius have a lot of fans in Europe, so it feels also strange that they don't get phone votes. It is also not possible (i think) to compare this song and produktion with Benjamin ingrosso. He had no fans and the production wasn't nearly as good. Do you think Sweden may be underestimated in the odds? What do you think Will happen on saturday? Thanks again for your very professional videos. 🥰
I think Sweden is underestimated in odds now due to the inclination to public vote. They are off radar but clearly this is one of the best songs and shows also. It is purely genuine by any aspects to the genre without trying to sell some other message or statement.

Finland: the camera was miles away at the end. We couldn't see the 2 men dancing around each other. It was much better at UMK.

He accidently broke some leds at their first training Day. So that is The reason,but i like it.

Serbia. I agree lights are not what they should be, on NF lights were better. But the camera also wasn't what it should be. Filming her from half a kilometer away didn't help this song, at all. Then zoom in or out in the wrong moments. There was no logic in some of these cuts. We know Teya's team had the right idea, they already did it once in Serbian's NF and it looked great. Teya said she wanted the whole performance to be filmed close-up, so her facial expressions could be visible throughout the song. But production didn't agree and she had to compromise and accept these wide shots, side shots, and whatnot.
Yes what a shame, she is so beautiful and captivating, this was a bit weird to watch but thankfully she made it to the final anyway even from the cursed second spot (perhaps Bambie Thugs witchcraft works 😂) just shows how talented Toya is, what an artist ❤ Love from Iceland 🇮🇸
@@thorbjorgsveinsdottir8564 It looked so weird, like they were filming from the Moon. I very well believe Bambie's witchcraft had something to do with carrying it into the finals because it was bizarre-looking. These wide shots only worked for high-tempo songs, the rest were ruined by the host's attempts to film their stage, in its entirety, as much as possible
I will do a masterclass and you'll understand why lights was a real issue. Imo this approach did not in general work for them. I am not sure that producers did not allow them to do it differently but more likely they did not know what concrete stuff they want to change. When I was HoD it was impossible to tell me that something is not possible. Also we always deliver a very detailed camera / editing plan for the act with all the other details. But there were some fundamental imperfections.
Maybe you have to read lyrics of songs in not English language first and then trying to understand performance or elements of staging😅
Without negative but it’s funny how you don’t like water in Ukraine staging because you don’t understand it and don’t see connection but it’s literally the first words in their song
the thing is - if you look at it from a perspective that a regular person dont care about it also, lyrics in general, what would you say? Morelikely I dont like how the effect looks after all, not the water in general. Those graphics are not nice when filling the stage.
@@JanBors If we take the regular person then maybe you are right. But again you are not positioning yourself as a regular person. Often you express an opinion from a professional point of view.
And this is still a song contest and the lyrics are important here. And many regular persons noted some other minuses in the visuals, but no one talked about the water because that’s not what they pay attention to.

@@Angelina-nh3bq yes and as a professional my first goal is to think how would regular person absorb this without knowing anything. This is probably the first very thing you need to learn. Make things as much understandable and clear as possible. Too many symbolism, too many objects of attention and things which fill your head with something innapropriate (something what you dont understand why its belong) and you have only 3 minutes and than its history to do such a thing. So thats why design is very important. You have too ways - clean f.e. like Ireland or some other overexposed way like Finland. But still understandable. Ukraine did it right as there are overwhelming moments and briliant ideas even technically. But this f.e. somehow switched me off. So dont mismatch scholarship with profesionality or morelikely practice. But you made me think about a good topic for a podcast! thx :)
