Mushroom hunting in the Upper Peninsula Michigan and Vermont is exciting and can be for kids too. Here we review common mushrooms in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan on Drummond Island in Lake Huron as well as in central Vermont. We review waxy caps, red chanterelles, deer mushroom, poison pax, dead man fingers, collared parachutes, turkey tail, hoof fungus, tinder polypore, common stinkhorn, and many others. Never eat a mushroom unless it is known to be edible and you are confident in its identification. Mushroom identification can be difficult and although we did our best to identify the mushrooms presented, subtle variances can sometimes create challenges in accurate identification. Always leave no trace and try not to disrupt mushrooms unless intentional. In the video we try not to disrupt mushrooms from their environment, except for in educational purposes.
