    It was awesome of Rocket to let you do some video. Actually I think it’s smart of you to send your car in yearly to make sure it’s the way the chassis is designed. For a weekly racer like yourself this prolongs the life of the chassis, witch is one of the largest expenses outside of the engine. Yes the consumables “body parts, wheels, tires, and fuel” is costly but a smart racer can manage those costs it’s those big hits that hurt

    Enjoyed the video Ryan. First thing Steve & Mark run a first class business at Rocket Chassis. It’s good to show so many fans how these cars are built. Made many trips to Rocket in the past for an old employer D&J White Ent. (Don & Judy White) and they even offered to work on one of my cars which I did not buy from them (Bullet chassis [1991]). Hard to tell how many racers they have helped along the way. BTW Steve Baker was a wheelman in his day, always amazed at good he was for no more than he raced.

    And the jig he has to put the nose together I got one just like it and jigs for other body panels as well for late models and modifieds and can do a whole body in two days from start to finish ready to hit the track. But it's crazy to watch them reclip a car it takes them a few hours and take me 2 days to put a new clip on lol crazy how streamlined they have made this place for how small it is but big for race car chassis shop and super busy I would love to work here. Mr Scott perkey is a legend. He has built hundreds and a few thousand championship winning cars that has won huge races. But the best thing is that the car is very safe they absorb impact very well the way they designed them

    Thought they used reversed RF lower. It's funny how the camera makes the main tubing look so large. Looks like 2" or a bit larger. Was a little surprised he welded each junction fully before moving to another. Guess they don't worry so much about warpage or tubing moving around now.

    Ryan, as of late, other races have talked about the tire price increase in their video's & one racer says he may not race at all or jus maybe a start here & there this year till tire prices come back down. He said his limit was $200 a tire considering you almost need a new set weekly for the main. Do you think it's gonna be feasible for you to race with tires costing $210 or more apiece every week? I do realize you own your own business but is it still worth it to try to go race weekly knowing most winnings you earn won't cover much in the way of what you spent on the car, parts & tires?

    • @JJ-1-1
      @JJ-1-1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think that’s your business

    • @RyanMissler
