Sophie, I had a collection of 30 brooches/pins (most of them were sparkly or bright enamel). I took them to a consignment store and they said "no thanks". So I kept them. My granddaughter asked to use them in a school play. Imagine seeing all those pins on those little girls! Most of them did not come back, so I feel they served their purpose.

You look for what defines these years. So it's going to be the tailored outfit plus sneakers. In particular, look for 'zara employee outfit', which is rampant in semi-casual offices these days. The sambas will be looked at like the plague.
@@springgreenzone hahaha yeah, zara quiet luxury at an affordable price! although statement jewelry and big bangles are coming back, seen it in 2024 runaway and stuff....also the JC bangles are like inspired by David Webb jewelry who's still a following. What i regret the most is buying things i loved, then never wearing them because they were "too good" or i didnt want to somehow ruin them. And now they dont fit and I spent $100+ on something i wore once. That to me is the bigger waste of money, because at least the ridiculous amount of cheap c**p 20yr old me bought at least got worn!!

A great commentary Sophie - and you are spot on about the haters. Firstly, congrats on the Porsches. I had someone whom I considered to be a best friend back in the noughties, she showed her true colours when we bought a used BMW, it was about 10 years old then. This woman always wanted a BMW but had a new Ford every 3 years and was very careful how many miles they put on it to get the max trade in, I was always pleased for her whenever she got a new car yet when I got this old BMW, she was as catty as heck and the friendship ended shortly after, we just stopped contacting each other. Even a crappy old used Beemer can wind some folk up!
This was a great video, Sophie! Loved the walk down memory lane. I had some of those same fashion moments. You reminded me to toss the colored jeans. I have the gaudy bracelet and necklaces still too! On buying on credit: I never did it, and you know why? I was so poor starting out, that I figured I could not afford interest, so I scrimped and saved until I could buy with cash. I have been doing it ever since. I pay off my credit cards monthly. I have had the same bank for forty years for checking and credit cards, and they have never got a dime off me lol.
Sophie, I still have my 3 series BMW from 2002 my husband bought me. Occasionally I take it for a spin. Also, I too purchased that MK watch and still own it. I wondered how or if we could resell it and who in the world would buy it.
Haha that’s exactly how I feel about the career ladder and wanting to get a car but wanting to be able to save, and when you do finally reach a goal, the haters that come out. I’m 25 rn but I see myself in you in a future kind of sense… I hope I’ll reach my career goals like you did 👏🏽
OMG, the Michael Kors watch, the big costume jewelry (I had an almost identical big bracelet), the boho necklaces, Juicy Couture, the skinny jeans in loud colors, etc!!! I wore all of this to death. This brought back so many memories!
thank you sophie for sharing your debt stories this is a really good thing you are doing because it will scare people which is good.. so they don't do stupid things...keep up your good work... you do luxury but at the same time also remind people to be financially be able to afford it first and be responsible
I love that Miu Miu bag. It has beautiful leather. I wanted to get it for me. But already had the Coffer. I think the Miu Miu you had is quite classic if we pair it with classic & chic outfits. My outfits had always been classic / basic cuts and colors.
Wow one of the best videos from you, Sophie! I am a car lover too, apart from bags haha. I wish cars are cheaper where I am, so I can one day own a porsche too!! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
I know this is off topic, and this comment will probably not get seen, but I love your makeup! 💄 I recall in a video you posted where you put the products you had on in the description box and you listed a sheer velvet lipstick by Givenchy in the color Beige Sable. I immediately had to buy it! It is still one of my favorite nude lipsticks ever! I’d love to see products you’re wearing in the description boxes again!
I love your stories... I have a friend who is very pretty like you. A " lady" passing by said, out of the blue, to her " well we know how you earned that car." In a very snarky tone.
Not going to lie, you were absolutely beautiful in each of these eras you now think were laughable. Thanks for taking us on a walk through with you. I don’t regret it at all!
People only say nasty things because they are riddled with jealousy you have what they want it’s simple. I say well done 👏 for your achievements and your handbag collection is to die for. Some people can’t be happy for people, you don’t need them in your life. 😊xxx Good luck to you

It’s a higher frequency I believe, like 💕 love. Anyway love your all videos full of wisdom. I wish I had my wisdom now but be young….Id be so efficient! 😃
Sophie: I still have my Miu Miu slouch bag like yours-same color and all (with bows). I remember I had wanted it so much at the time. It had the look 😍
Costume jewelry is very much a thing of its time. The Swarovski ring can still be worn under certain circunstances though. Coloured jeans are also a thing of its time, which is disgraceful since I have twenty pairs of them stashed somewhere.
Sophie wallpaper is one thing but did you ever sponge paint a room? I think this was big in the 1990’s. My husband and I were in our first home and I was much more energetic back then and decided to sponge paint teal pain on a white wall. Just thinking about it now makes me dizzy.😖😂
I did sponge paint my bedroom when I was a teen, yes!! In yellow haha! This is an unlocked memory for me now Debbie, I totally forgot about this trend!! Xx
I remember michael kors watches were so in! I used to waste alot of money on fashion items and makeup i dont really use in the past… those were the days…
Hi Sophie! I’ve just found you, watched some great vids you’ve posted - I couldn’t agree with you more about things💝 You got me reminiscing about the early 2000’s - I have/had the same hideous items in my wardrobe (along with a few excellent LV bags 😁👜!!) ps. Personally, I love the big necklace you’re wearing! It’s fab 😂👍🏻 *subscribed*
The zebra bracelet looks like a Cartier panther bracelet. Much the same design though zero quality! Even at the time I hated bandage dresses! LOL! I rather like the first Chanel bag you showed. Though a classic flap would have been better. Sigh! The mistakes we make! Thank you for the video!
I love this one, Sophie! OMG that big necklace is so awful! I kind of like that Michael Kors watch though. I remember bandage dresses and big jewelry, and big handbags, none of which I could do. I'm petite and look ridiculous in outsize things. My most hated style was low rise jeans. Sooo unflattering! I enjoyed seeing those old pics of you back in the day.
Oh, I remember those oversized Swarovski crystal rings, I had a big blue one I was very proud of, hahaa (pretty sure I still have it somewhere too!). Junk, but so much fun at the time! Your things brought back some funny memories for me!!
I have to confess, I do like the boho necklace and the zebra bracelet... Although I'm a bit weird and I like mixing different things. I'm not super trendy. I just do me, for better or for worse :D I would totally wear them.
Ive got the big MK watch lol seriously all that jewellery has the potential to come back in. I want to wear the MK watch now because I can and it's not fashionable lol am going to make a point of getting the strap changed, battery in, and go and wear it again .
This is one of my absolute favourite posts Sophie. So informative and enjoyable to watch. Oh by the way (you’ll laugh when I say this) but you look lovely in that necklace and I actually still have my Michael Kors oversized watch stuck in a drawer somewhere too.
The Mui Mui Bow bag! I had one and sold it about 10 years ago for a big loss! I loved the look of it but when I got it, I didn’t use it much as it was HUGE and it looked awful half empty.
I loved the fashions of the 1980s and 90s, very polished and feminine, but I hated the fashions of the early 2000s and early 2010s and completely lost interest and didn’t buy much at all back then. I didn’t start loving them again until around 2015. Funny thing is that the fashions now are a lot like those of the 90s. I don’t have many spending regrets as I have always been good with money. The only thing I can think of is 4 pairs of Chanel costume jewellery earrings and they were not that expensive at the time I bought them. Nowhere near the price they are now. I have never been into cars, which is probably a good thing and have never owned a brand new one. All I ask from a car is that it look chic and pretty and get me from A to B in comfort and the minimum of drama. I currently have a 14 year old Peugeot hatchback. I love her to pieces and she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Dooney and Bourke make the same style bag as the MUI MUI and have made it the go to "it" bag to have from DB (The Satchel). It's funny how one contemporary brand can have a long-time design that is still wanted by customers and for the designer bag it was a flash in the pan. Still love the Mui Mui bag but the DB is actually better quality. I still love my MK watches to this day just wish I had somewhere to go now that I actually had to get dressed enough to wear a pretty watch. People still buy and wear the MK watches.
I bought lots of dumb stuff during my younger years .. like a movado watch ! Just recently sold the one and only Chanel purse I had .. sometimes it hunts me 😂
OK, that Chanel bag was so trendy. They thought because you were young they could push it on you and they did. When you look at it now, it just looks so awful and cheap but then it was very trendy and fashionable. The bandage dress. Obviously Herve Legere or inspired by. Yes, it will make it come back. That was the second time around if I’m remembering correctly, so yes it’ll come back. Everything does hopefully not the trucker hat, but definitely on the bandage dress. Costume jewelry if it’s very expensive is never ever worth it. In my opinion costume jewelry is really for kids. It’s just throwing your money in the garbage pretty much because it has no value other than it’s design. So save your money buy something of the same design if you love it that much but of higher quality. Lol, I love the giant Boho necklace! It’s ridiculous.
I so relate to this. I had a lot of similar clothes and jewelry in the early 2010s. I wouldn’t be surprised if this style did come back in fashion though. I never in a million years would have guessed that 2000s fashion would come back in style! Ah, can you imagine a revival of those mustache finger tattoos 😅😅😅
Sophie, I had a collection of 30 brooches/pins (most of them were sparkly or bright enamel). I took them to a consignment store and they said "no thanks". So I kept them.
I’m 25 rn but I see myself in you in a future kind of sense… I hope I’ll reach my career goals like you did 👏🏽
You’ll smash it, I know you will!! ✊🙌💪xx🩷
OMG, the Michael Kors watch, the big costume jewelry (I had an almost identical big bracelet), the boho necklaces, Juicy Couture, the skinny jeans in loud colors, etc!!! I wore all of this to death. This brought back so many memories!
Happy Sunday everyone 😄. Thanks so much as always Sophie for sharing.
thank you sophie for sharing your debt stories this is a really good thing you are doing because it will scare people which is good.. so they don't do stupid things...keep up your good work... you do luxury but at the same time also remind people to be financially be able to afford it first and be responsible
A great watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Thanks.
I wouldn't wear that watch ANY day of the week!
@@WIP532 🤣🤣 I wasn’t referring to the wristwatch.
I think the bandage dress looked lovely on everyone! I still think it looks good and I bet it will be back in style in -4 years!
You had me ib stitches 😂. Yes some folks are jealous indeed, not me though, Congrats 😃🍸💜
Thank you so much for watching as always my friend! That’s a horrible thing that was said, I do think it must surly stem from insecurity 🙁xx
@@SophieShohetOfficial that is what I told her .. envy is evil
😳 what is wrong with people
Omg i had the same swarovski ring 😂 what a throwback 😂 this was IT back then !
Wow.. That debt tale is quite something...
Well done, what a wonderful day that must have been 💖
Phenomenal 💖
Not going to lie, you were absolutely beautiful in each of these eras you now think were laughable. Thanks for taking us on a walk through with you. I don’t regret it at all!
I remember the Michael Kors watch craze. Seems like decades ago.
I so agree! In one way it feels recent, but in another way it feels like years ago. It’s scary how fast time flies 😢xx
People only say nasty things because they are riddled with jealousy you have what they want it’s simple. I say well done 👏 for your achievements and your handbag collection is to die for. Some people can’t be happy for people, you don’t need them in your life. 😊xxx Good luck to you
Thank you for the love Alison, you have a fab week!xx🩷
I loved this story it was so inspiring and entertaining at the same time. Thanks Sophie!
Theres always going to be insecure jealous people around who hurt you. You earned it enjoy it 😊
I had that pink Miu Miu foldover bow bag too lol. I think it served its purpose for the time.
I love all those pieces of jewellery that you don’t like. It all depends the look your going for. I like to lots of different looks.
Sophie, I am person that is happy for others…It’s lovely to see people sparkle with excitement. Also my grandma said if do it, genuinely the universe will open up to you….an it’s the truth 🥰.
Omg MOMCOCO you have so many good bags ahhh, I love the cream coach bag with the shoulder strap omg!! So so cute!
Thank you for sharing. And well done you ❤
Sophie, love your hair today. I think it is amazing that you work so hard for everything you have. Ignore the haters.
Oh my goodness Sophie, we’re in the middle of getting rid of our teal accent wall…Haha! Those were the days 😂
I bought that exact Michael Kors watch for myself when I graduated! I never wear it now but it’s sentimental to me ❤
Oh, I remember those oversized Swarovski crystal rings, I had a big blue one I was very proud of, hahaa (pretty sure I still have it somewhere too!).
Thanks for the stroll down memory lane! 😊
Well, I feel called out and, yet, nostalgic.
The energy in this video is amazing. This is one of the most enjoyable Sophie vids in a while. Have a nice week, Sophie
And to you my friend! Hugs xx🩷🩷
I adore the way Brits pronounce zebras. That bracelet is hideous. Some fashion pieces don’t stand the test of time.
And with social media you get to find out who the envious people are !!!
Love the story of the BMW and Porsches, your stories are the best! Xx
Ahhhh the miu miu bow bag. I had one of those in taupe around 2010 and it was totally a vibe at the time.
It really was a vibe!!xx
You could totally rock the Miu Miu! Very much on trend again.
Great video Sophie as always, you’ve worked hard and deserve to get beautiful things, keep smiling xx
Yes, oversized Swarovski rings definitely got me
