You didn't reach even half of the temp gauge, so the gearbox was not overloaded or overheated. And I agree with some people about switching to manual mode in heavy traffic. Because normally DCT/DSG gearbox tries to enable 2nd gear as quick as possible, even if you are rolling 10 km/h. Then you stop, 1st gear is engaged, you move, 2nd again, you stop, etc, etc. It causes additional load for clutches and mechatronic. DSG from VW have additionally sport mode, which keeps the car longer on a low gear, what is also useful in traffic jam. But generally speaking, nothing wrong happened with the gearbox during this ride on the video.
New Hyundai Venue doesn't come with transmission temp gauge. They removed it. It only comes with initial batch of venue, i think it will also go away after car's software update. Hyundai tried their best to keep owners informed about vehicle but we Indians panicked really bad 😂😂😂
Thank you. This video was very helpful. Have one question though. How does the DCT work in scenarios where we drive for 7-8 hours non stop, or long drives in hilly terrain? Does it heat up just like in the stop go traffic or is it better?
No it does not heat up in lomg drives Heating happens only when there are frequent gear changes in a short span of time(which is the case with traffic). On highways dct feels at home!
I can't understand why Hyundai Ioniq HEV DCT6 dry is the most used car in Spain as UBER-Taxi .. seems that works perfectly for city bumper to bumber , I own an IONIQ and got my chutch changed (with 30k km) but the truth is that I bought as used car .

I believe a more effective approach is to switch the transmission to manual in D1 without shifting gears, and keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead while releasing the brake pedal.
Clutch plates are never mentioned in part of regular maintenance as this is wear and tear part! It is always recommended to change based on usage that service advisor tells only during service!
I dont think you will ever need to change them. Unlike a manual, the DCT has two clutches to get the work done, both of them operated by a computer much more efficiently than any human. If you dont do stupid things with it, it will hold up!
Sir.. .!! thnx for shareing very important information ! Sir one Question...,, plz reply....if we live in hilly area where tempcher allmost minus degree , so in that case DCT transmission remain normal or it'll take some mor time to get heat up..!!
Based on my experience, bahot thoda farak padta hai! As i observed this in delhi winters this year, transmission takes a little more time to beat up than in summers! So yes in hilly areas, it will take some more time to heat up than here in delhi! But the best practices to drive dct remain same ! In hilly areas, it will heat up mainly when you are parking on an incline where you have to move the car back and forth multiple times!
My car condition is still as day 1. DCT still works as it was on day 1. With time , some wear and tear can happen which will basically depend on usage. My mileage has been 25k kms till now
Nothing in the short run! Heating of the gearbox fastens wear and tear of clutch plates . The more you bring it into heating situations, it will reduce you clutch plates life! Normal heating will happen , no matter what you do. Just try to reduce heating in scenarios of heavy stop go traffic by little tricks to improve life of gearbox and clutch plates in specific! Amount of heating shown in this video is very normal. Heating upto this level on daily basis will create no issues at all. Having a hearing of upto 100% of the gauge 4-5 times a weak for prolonged hours can be an issue for your gearbox life!
yes absolutely fine till the time you follow best practices and don't do anything childish! Prevent clutch slippage by avoiding holding the car on half break(unless absolutely necessary)!

@@CarsPlusBikes Sir first can you tell how do you feel? I feel really bad.. Moreover you are really honest.. Some owners of S-Presso will tell their cars are 5 star rated.🤣
@@piyushkanthak1087 : I dont feel bad at all about my venue purchase! It is fulfilling my requirements more than I expected! 3star rating is less but its not very bad if u drive more responsibly! I know the capabilities of venue, its good and bad points , its high speed behaviour and not so precise steering (as that of vw/ford cars). So if u know in and out of ur car, u drive it accordingly and u always know what you are doing while driving! Driving an spresso at 140 on highways is wrong, its meant to be driven max at 80. Even if someone has a polo gt tsi, does not mean they can drive it ruthlessly in city or at 180 on indian highways where unexpected dog/cat/cow/cattle can come in between! So safety has 60 percent to do with the driver and 40 percent to do with the car build quality! This 60:40 ratio can change as well based on conditions where others do some blunder mistakes!
Also to add further, I know that my polo trendline is safer than venue sxo where polo came at less than half the price of venue, but both are serving their purpose exactly as they were purchased for!

That's a very valid point. The performance needs to be seen in peak Delhi summer, when the temp hovers around 45-46 degrees.
