I would love to see a follow-up video where build a deck using the steps you explained in the video. This would really illustrate how to effectively use your model, and solidify the learning goal. I know you put a lot of work into this video. Thanks again.
This is why I love Ashes, the fact that the control archetype isn't meta just as it is in MTG makes for some crazy fast 'n fun Swing decks and games!! Love the content :).
Yeah, Control doesn't quite occupy the same space in Ashes as it does in other games. It's more of a flavor of one of the other archetypes than an archetype of its own. Thanks for watching!

I had no idea there was a time to discard in the first round...🤔 My feeling regarding the net deck section though, my understanding of what you described is using someone else's deck as inspiration and that I'm cool with. Hearthstone is notorious for how I would define "true" net decking and that is just using the deck to win with no regard for changes. To end on a positive ill say this video was a necessity for Ashes and one every new player should watch 😁
Thanks for the kind words! The context of discussion being deck building, you're right that I'm mostly talking about using net decking as a means to find inspiration. However, I don't think there is anything wrong at all with just copy pasting someone's list card for card and playing with that. Not everyone who plays card games enjoys deck building or cares to do it. Some people just want to have a tried and true, solid deck to pick up and learn and play competitively with. And that's okay! If you are interested in becoming a better deck builder though, using other people's lists is a great way to learn what works. Thanks for watching!
Ahhh step 8 hits me. I used to play this game, I won't mention it's name. It was an obscure game anyway. I tried so hard to get this deck to fuction. It just wasn't as good as another version was. The version that was good was the "net deck" I eventually had to throw in the towel and play the net deck version because it was just that much better. I got top 8 with it at a tournament, that was fun. Anyway...my version was infact my darling. I totally feel that.

I'm told the name is a reference to the early Magic: The Gathering card Demonic Tutor, which lets players search their deck for a card and put it into their hand. However, the term can also apply to search effects that put a card elsewhere or play it, such as the upcoming Jericho, Reborn's Phoenixborn ability, which puts the card on top of the deck, or Emperor Lion, which can put a Law card into your hand or allow you to play it.
