    I heard some young professionals in Japan have just started talking about moving to Austin from Tokyo. There's a lot of young professionals in Tokyo and it's the main hub for a lot of young people in Japan. Japanese people are very rare here in Texas. Most of them live in California for those that live on the USA mainland. I would like to see some Japanese innovation right here in Austin.

      Would love to see some more diversity in Austin!

      Hi I live in Kyoto and am considering a move to Austin within the next few months. Perhaps we could start a Japanese business professional community! Do you know how I can get in touch with the people you mentioned? Also thank you @austintexasliving for your fantastic videos.

    I like food, music, comedy & weird stuff. Austin is really clean. the streets are wide. the city is really attractive looking. people I met were friendly. I gotta see some more data on demographics tho.

    Awesome video! I’m from NY(no, not NYC). Want to move to Texas. Will probably pick Austin, but not set in stone. Really depends on where I can get a job.

    Can you please suggest any neighborhoods that are bike friendly?
    Neighborhoods Within Downtown Austin?

      Most of the areas around downtown are bike-friendly. It's when you get out to the suburbs with the busy highways that cycling can get a little scary. But for the most part, drivers in the city expect to see cyclists on the road.

    Greetings from Los Angeles! Great video, I wanted to ask you a question regarding the allergies lol. Based on your anecdotal experience, would you say Austin is worse for allergies than San Antonio? If you’re not sure no worries but really would like your input on this please 🙂

    • @AustinTexasLiving
      @AustinTexasLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greetings! That's a great question! From what I understand, the allergy issues are pretty similar in Austin and San Antonio. If there is a difference of one being worse than the other, it's not by much.

    I'm from San Antonio moving to the Austin area.
    We have weird pronounciations as well:
    Huebner is "Heebner"
    Potranco is "Puhtraynko"
    Bexar is "Bear"
    Also there's a town in the Hill Country called Gruene but it's pronounced "Green".
    I guess it's just a Texas thing to say stuff different than how it 's spelt lol

    • @AustinTexasLiving
      @AustinTexasLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! It took me a few years to pick up on "Bear", "Green," and "Bernie."

    Hi! You talked about bats in Austin. And what about snakes? What I’ve heard it is not a big deal and the snakes are everywhere 😬 Is that true?

    • @AustinTexasLiving
      @AustinTexasLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Austin has a lot of trees, trails, bushes etc... which are prime areas for snakes. We do have a lot of wildlife out here, but you don't need to worry about snakes coming at you all the time.
