I think it more of matches Rachel, since this song keeps talking about not being able to catch up to everyone else, being left behind. It perfectly describes Rachel's insecurities of not being able to catch up to Bam who is gifted while she's just an average person. In the webtoon, last chapters of season 1, when Bam was taking the test and she's just in the dark crevice forced to watch Bam get ahead of her, she was desperately begging Bam not to go but he couldn't hear her. She was just trapped in the darkness helplessly yelling "Don't go Bam!" not being able to do anything because Headon put a shinsu barrier blocking her, while Bam passes the test and ascends to the next floor leaving her behind. Before, it looked like Bam was chasing her, but now it seems like she's the one who has to chase Bam after all. The opening on the other hand talks about not giving up and taking all the risk to move up, and the "Never let you go", Bam takes that line way too seriously by never wanting to let go of Rachel lol. It matches Bam, and the opening focuses on him while the ending focuses on Rachel. Both protagonists have a song that matches them.
