I must say, the most underrated singer songwriter duo ever finally received the recognition they deserve. For me, Lou Gramm IS Foreigner and always will be. Thank you Mick Jones for assembling one of the greatest rock bands ever.
Nice to see both of them in an interview! I do not think Lou doesn't know what to say, but Lou looks a bit dejected, but he's still an amazing singer. It would be great both of them get more awards, because this music is real music if you ask me. They can be very proud of themselves and I think that's also so!
In Lou’s prime you would be hard pressed to find a more powerful voice. He just cut through the entire mix dominating the sound stage. Unreal range! I know Mic wrote much of that music but Lou made the band. Impossible to forget that voice!
For me besides my hero John Lennon ... Lou Graham is the greatest singer that touched my heart and senses ... his feel vocal range and style is the best!
And boy do they deserve the awards! Foreigner came on the scene out of no where back in the 70's. And had hit after hit and really made a statement along the way! So much talent !!! I have every album they put out . Never, ever get tired of listening to Foreigner!
Mick and Lou are humble men. Good Job Lou and Mick !! The Lord works through men. How does it feel Mick and Lou to be used by the Lord? Feels pretty good for sure.. Good Job !!
Both of these men are wonderful in their own right. Lou Gramm is a nice man unique and wonderful voice. Mick jones is an arrogant guy and he has a reason a reason to be after writing all these amazing songs. I've met them both. Just say it was better when I didn't meet Jones for my imagination. We had a very difficult conversation. It was like pulling teeth.
Me gusta. Pero lou es lou
Very well said. I respect Mick a lot for his talent and writing abilities. And even for his manner and personality. But he does have some issues to address as you said. Hopefully the rekindled friendship between him and Lou has helped in more ways than one... for both of them perhaps.
Everytime they rift "l Want to Know what Love Is"..........😩....but your songs especially those chart busters were piercing deep into my soul songs. Congratulations!!!
I'd like to ask Mick Jones why he markets present day Foreigner with Lou Gramms vocals. Foreigner today is a cover band with one original member who barely ever tours with them. Mick Jones needs to make things right before he passes away
Because he can't afford to appear blowing off Lous fans, by soley using Kelly to market Foreigner. Kelly is not the first to replace Lou, I still like Johnny Edwards who actually sounds more like Lou than Kelly, but there are many Lou fans that still refuse to accept Kelly as the current singer, Johnny Edwards went through the same situation in 1991 , so no matter who fronts Foreigner, if it isn't Lou, Mick who's about money, has to really walk on a thin high wire, to almost please each section of the fanbase. Not a position I'd want to be in.
I'm more into a little bit harder Rock but I still listen to Foreigner today number one Lou gram is top five singer of all Time !!!! Mick is the rift master
INDUCT " THE ORIGINAL FOREIGNER" into the RRHOF! Their music was the SONGTRACK OF MY LIFE for 45 Years now...and I'm 55!Timeless music, lyrics...AND LOU GRAMM one of top 3 ROCK SINGERS EVER...along with Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury.
well we're half way home, now lets here the hall speak of the real success of the whole band, you know the band the world loves, here's a hint they're called FOREIGNER,LOU GRAMM AND MICK JONES,POWERFUL MUSIC
Lou is just fabulous and so gracious...all respect. I am so glad he won out in the end...has a good life and peace....forever. Mick is stuck with just a few dollars in this life only...that is what he ripped off Lou for.
Jeez. Was this guy TRYING to start a fight? Focusing on the song that drove a wedge between them, and ultimately broke up the band? Shameful interview in my opinion. How awkward for both Lou and Mick. Foreigner should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lou Gramm is the man!
Honestly, I was not aware of the issue until a few years ago, so he might not know either. I just love how Lou was classy, Representing Rochester like a champ!
These guys made some great music over the years. It sucks that Lou had his health problems. But, I have to give the guy credit for fighting his way through them. He's sounding really good these days. It's pretty darn incredible really considering his age and what he's been through. Just goes to show you the true professional he is. As for everyone badmouthing Mick and Kelly, get over it. Kelly does an outstanding job. And let's face it, not an easy job to do. Trying to keep the integrity of those songs intact when you are not the original singer ain't easy. The guy has balls to even attempt it and he does a damn good job of it. Hats off to Mick for keeping the band alive all of these years. It could have very easily been another page in the history books. sure, the naysayers will say that it's not Foreigner without the original guys. But, name one band from the 1970's that still has the original line up. I can't think of one.
like it or not children,MICK AND LOU were the cement that formed FOREIGNER, with their faults and aspirations, they were two men extraordinarily talented, writing ability and musician and then the greatest vocalist alive,MICK AND LOU were competing and didn't even know it,i've heard it in their music for 35 years, and I love it,all of those recordings just for us,if they would have never met there would have been no foreigner, that would have sucked beyond belief, nope i'll take ole mick and lou
Kelly Hansen does a magnificent job. I have heard them in concert several times. They are so tight that it sounds like they are in the studio. Hansen's voice has power and depth to it. He's different than Gramm and they both sing this song with heart and conviction. Shivers.
Nina Eckhoff ...You got one thing right...he is definitely different from, Lou. I'm not saying Kelly isn't doing a good job, but...there will NEVER be another, Lou Gramm!
I wonder if Gramm is still pissed about all the royalties he missed out on by not receiving a songwriting credit. He must have missed out on millions just on that one song.
It's always just a bit uncomfortable watching interviews with them over the years when an interviewer asks about that song. Hearing Lou explain earlier this year how they both crafted that song almost half and half was nice. But anyway... they have rekindled their friendship now so... we'll see what happens from here.
its the reversal of what Bobby Kimball does the ex lead singer of toto. ive seen banners when it said bobby Kimball the founding member of toto when he wasn't and sometime on the 80's/90's Kimball called his backing band toto
Mick always dodges the fact that his substance use (particularly the fact that it ruined the tour with the Prague Symphony Orchestra) was what finally drove Lou out of the band for good. I like some of the songs from the recent Foreigner album with Kelly Hansen, but I think re-recording the greatest hits (just like when Journey did it with Arnel Pindela) is where the disrespect lies. Not that I think Mick is Satan, but there are some issues he needs to address.
@@sandizanotti4765 Lou was not a drug free singer in his prime, before 1991 he went to rehab quite a few times over the years then he'd relapse, when he left Foreigner in1990 , it was the next year, out of fear of dying from his bad habits, he prayed to God for help, and spent 30 days at Hazeldon clinic in Minnesota, the difference is that this time, stead of just detoxifying his body, Hazeldon, helped him address "WHY" he was doing drugs 1. Deadline pressure to get songs done 2. Coccain to stay hyper and awake 3. Mick Jones, who introduced him to these substances.(Lou quit again in 2003, because of Micks alcoholism, and creative issues with him again). But when Lou was at the clinic, it was then he became a born again Christian and he managed to really stay sober( though it wasnt easy), for almost 30 years, he is a good man.
Mick Jones should be ashamed of himself. What a greedy little man. Lou Gramm is all class as always. The fact that he can stand next to this pitiful little backstabber shows what a true gentleman he is. How dare Jones prostitute the Foreigner name? Shame on you, Jones.
thomas scoot well I know ,I'm a huge Lou fan. His first solo album was worn out by my cassette player. Anyways it has always been Mick's band. Mick the Dick.
Stupid announcer has to ask about I Want To Know What Love Is when that was a major breaking point between them and Mick not giving Lou rightful writing credits on it.
When they made up and got along! Not sure what’s going on now but Lou recently has been doing interviews lately one minute saying how Mick Jones is ill but the next bitching how Mick cheated out of royalties wtf????
Mick scammed Lou and you can see Lou doesnt want to be here with Mick. I wouldnt either. Mick has destroyed the Foreigner name. Lou is still loved by all.
@zorg lord Read Lou's book its all there and hey , noticed Mick never disputed these claims he always talked around the reasons like a swamp politician.
He went through a lot of health issues, had a brain tumor, and the medication he was on caused him to gain weight! Not to mention he's 70 yrs old. Love to see what you look like after all that, or even now! Says the one with no profile pic!
I've seen Lou interviewed post Foreigner, a pure gentleman and very humble.
I must say, the most underrated singer songwriter duo ever finally received the recognition they deserve. For me, Lou Gramm IS Foreigner and always will be.
Thank you Mick Jones for assembling one of the greatest rock bands ever.
Underrated?
A special day in rock history - when these 2 men made peace with each other.
Oh! my goodness, that was a finally, well deserved recognition.Terrific! You look very handsome in your suit and tie, Lou!
I Saw And Met Lou Gramm On April 21, 2017 He Is So Nice And Kind!
That's so cool
Their rock en roll royalty, congrats 🎉
Can't stop watching it until the end when Lou is on the screen! Definitely an uncomparable success what they have achieved!
Ty So Much..Lou Gramm Is And ALWAYS WILL Be THE BEST..

Lou cowrote a lot of those tunes, Mick didnt write them all.
Foreigner belongs in the rock & roll HOF now 2020 👍
From what I seen lately Mick should write a cheque to Lou and give him 60/40 of songwritign credits for I Wanna KNow What Love Is.
Agree
Great interview love them both my favorite group
For me besides my hero John Lennon ... Lou Graham is the greatest singer that touched my heart and senses ... his feel vocal range and style is the best!
Lou is so soft spoken and articulate.

Lou Gramm, Nick Jones show 👏👏👏👏👏👏 the best
Wow! Very interesting to know that they prayed together in the Lord's prayer before the recording!
Please DON'T EVER retire, Lou!!! Perform together MORE in the future. GOD bless you with strength and all good things, in Jesus name amen!
god and jesus....ok......

well mick has made things right in a way mick and lou are now talking to each other again. hopefully they have put the past behind them.
Lou.. said he called, Mick, and congratulated him. Yep... it's good they are speaking again.
Lou Gramm ❤️
Great to see the interviewer become a little emotional at 2:55 that shows he really means what he says and asks.
Love you two! The awards are so well deserved!
Lou eptomized what real love is when he forgave his friend and brother. A true prince by any measure.
Could not agree more with you. Ive noticed their concert ads are all Lou;s recordings.
Foreigner used to be so amazing until Mick went crazy.
Lou!!!! stand up straight Dude!!! We love you,!

Grande, Lou cantante de los cantantes
In my humble opinion, no voice and emotion of Lou, no Foreigner success!!! Enough said!
The night at the SHOF was awesome! So is the interview ...
Great performance of IWKWLI - Tommy Gimbel was with Mick and Lou.
Lou Gramm was Foreinger! Mick thinks it was his guitar playing that made the band, lol. Front men are the stars!!!
Micks guitar, nah, the songs were successful because of Lou's singing abilty, even Mick knows it.
Lou is just fabulous and so gracious...all respect. I am so glad he won out in the end...has a good life and peace....forever. Mick is stuck with just a few dollars in this life only...that is what he ripped off Lou for.

Lou was great and he will be the first to tell you that KELLY is GREAT as well
Foreigner is coming to Spokane Washington. I was thinking of going. But with no Lou Gramm I will not be going. He is my favorite part of the band.
It's good to see Christopher Lloyd from back to the future and taxi interviewing these guys.
Lou is one of the best voices in music. Kelly what's his name is a karaoke knock off. Nuff said.
Kelly Hansen does a magnificent job. I have heard them in concert several times. They are so tight that it sounds like they are in the studio. Hansen's voice has power and depth to it. He's different than Gramm and they both sing this song with heart and conviction. Shivers.

Forigner is the best ever
i hope come back together 2017!
I haven't heard anything about any kind of reunion but Lou announced he was retiring after this year. I love Lou...such a reserved and humble guy.
Mick seems uneasy when the host asks them about I want to know what love is. I guess Mick remembers ripping off Lou. 95-5 Mick then 0%. Karma
I wonder if Gramm is still pissed about all the royalties he missed out on by not receiving a songwriting credit. He must have missed out on millions just on that one song.

I notice Lou did not get to comment very much!
Mick is a control freak and pretty much has the opinion it was all him.
Lou is letting him and looking to Mick to do the comments mostly.

For Pete's sake...he needed to let Lou talk....Lou, did sing those great songs...also, co-wrote them.
