  • Intex has finally come out with their own trolling motor for their inflatable boats. It has the tilt handle, extendable handle, weed release feature and more much like the minn kota brand. However, it is 30% cheaper. With a 2 year warranty and much more, you decide if the intex trolling motor is better than minn kota trolling motor.

    *This makes my old motor look like a toy **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it's well built. I haven't had it on the water yet, but I'm very sure it will perform just fine.*

    It's worked great for us we've used it on the snake river all the time and our customers love it! If there are defects or issues with it, it does have a 1 year manufactures warranty so you're covered. If you're looking for a great trolling motor the Intex is the best!

    I had to dislike this video because you did not do a comparison, the title says "vs. Minn Kota" you di not compare the two.

    Do you take the battery on the boat with you when you go onto the water? Does it stay connected the whole time or do you charge it before?

    Picked up one of these open box. My plan was to use it with a 4S 60AH Li-on battery that I made with leftover 18650 cells. Problem is the motor has some. Built-in circuitry that won't let it turn on if input voltage is too high. My guess is 15V or higher but I haven't tested it yet. I tried a 3S battery, which works well but the battery meter always shows 1 green bar, and completely shuts off when the voltage gets below 10V meaning you don't get to use a good portion of your lithium batteries on either the high or the low end. I understand the safety features of a low and high voltage cutoff, but I am looking now to bypass those with a pwm controller.

    • @brandonwarren8351
      @brandonwarren8351 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need either lifepo cells or you can use a converter to buck the 4s pack voltage down which is what I would do if I had to use 18650.

    I got the New port one that is just like this as far as 40 pounds, tilting, battery meter, but Newport's is way better. Salt water worthy, stainless steel, 3 blades on propeller etc.... so great. The reviews on this Intex motor are horrid on Amazon. It's total crap apparently.

      @@fpsfein It worked flawlessly for 3 years. I really liked the battery indicator and the tilt at the handle. Because I used it at the front of the boat it always felt a little underpowered. The first thing to go was the red tilt level assembly. Upon calling the supplier to buy a replacement I was told there was no parts list and to buy another entire unit. So, i then fabricated one out of aluminum and it worked for a while longer. Shortly after, the speed selector switch failed. With this occurence I scrapped it and bought a Minn Kota. Overall I was satisfied with the unit and may have kept it if parts were availible but they were not.
