i reckon turning the clouds down a bit more setting would allow the opportunity for players to use them strategically while also having freedom to move around
Sparse clouds are good when you want the challenge to be actually fighting each other. Dense clouds generate so much deadly red it's instead a challenge to build a ship that is omni-shielded to survive that fact. Which can be neat but everyone needs to already have a ship that can deal with that fact or time to retool.
Ever since the invention of stage hazards, there are the people who are for and those that are against "final destination no items fox only" Personally I think that both dense and sparse clouds are fun, no clouds would be meh
if the clouds had an option to control the ratios of types it would be more interesting, otherwise dense just barricades most of the map with ion clouds

This is the smallest of gripes but it does for some reason bother me that the menu music plays the entire match. The game has some more actiony music but i dunno how you can get it in your videos but i would suggest that or just any other music than the menu stuff. Nice though it is, it doesnt fit these battles really.
my opinion on clouds and map size: dense is fine if it's just duels on a larger map or if it's on a smaller map, but sparse for large teams. especially do just sparse if you've got fog of war on

Whatever conditions allow for the most diverse meta is objectively best.
More so for a creative game like Cosmoteer.

Definitely prefer the clouds on 'Sparse'. (Although I don't see how someone could call this sparse when they still cover ~1/3 of the map.)
That core spear could easily obliterate any ship if gets a direct hit rather than scratch the sides
1.5 mil ships are cool and all but I really miss those mega ships.
