There were people there specifically to see eddie and brian pull. They knew nothing of arm wrestling just fan's of them two! This sport is growing!!
Were there really tho? U met them in person?
@Vxneji yes I was there!!
Janis misunderstood match of the night... Match of the night is basically the most entertaining match the one that made the public react the most, the one that got everybody on fire.... And there is no question about it... Eddie Hall and Brian shaw were match of the night and I would say one of the best match ever... It was absolutely amazing to watch... The tension, the trashtalk, the back and forth... Just GREAT!!
two legends of another insane strength sport entering ur sport that are also friends but super competitive lol like it certainly was the most hype
Maybe you misunderstood what Is a sport. This Is not a show , we dont want people Who act like Kids Just because you Need tò be entretained... If you want tò be entretained go tò a circus. This Is a serious sport not the circus
@Perinio-inlove watch WAF, it's for the "serious" 😂
@Perinio-inlove😂😂 the past is gone brother... Haven't you watched Idiocracy? People want entertainment not the truth. 🙋🏻♂️
And Brian Shaw’s hand cooler.
Rustam is something special, he's a living legend in our sport, his pec seems to have healed completely since his last match with Paul Linn where it was 80% recovered it was a risk he took then but he felt confident enough and won without getting injured further, now with good health and recovery he's gonna be a handful for a alot of people
Brian literally got that W from just using pure strength when he learns technique and gets better at it. It’s terrifying to think how good he will be. Levan said he needs one year because he already has the attributes to be the best and if he focuses full-time on one year training, he could get up there for sure.
What Brian needs is a personal arm wrestling trainer who will train him every day for several months until he becomes proficient and can train on his own.
He needs about 6 years of intense training and nothing else to even be considered
@jax9574 To be what? He could be in the top 10 in 2 to 3 yrs. If you're talking about facing Levan, then yeah probably 5 to 6 years. I love how many are under estimating him though it's good motivation. He has better genetics than anyone in the sport currently which should translate to a incredibly high ceiling.
@@rancidmarmot1994 To give the lower weight classes some challenge
He needs 5 years at least
What Brian needs is a personal arm wrestling trainer who will train him every day for several months until he becomes proficient and can train on his own.
Yes! Having the Larratts visit for a day or two once or twice over 6 months is not frequent enough or personalized enough. Brian needs a coach there every week at least 2-3 sessions per week +his weekly table time with the local club for many months to develop the skills and feel for Armwrestling
Is it possible to increase the volume of your videos in post? If you compare them to any other channel (or just the adverts - this is a good indicator) they are very low.
Jerry vs Vitally would be awesome!
Go through the match with video and show why you don't think Brian was an arm wrestler. Because I think he did a great job.
Ray has been overly harsh and hyperbolic of Brian from the start. It's a bit silly. He didn't "just go side", he fought for the highground and regripped multiple times and toprolled. Yes it wasn't pretty like a pro would be and he moves awkwardly but he's huge, and he has one foot off the platform one foot on because he can't fit. Cleave Dean moved kinda weirdly because of his size too, and he was a beast. He just needs a real coach drilling the movements with him, like Neil did with Eddie and he'll look a lot better. And a bigger platform so he can actually stand on it.
@@LurkerBelow-uh7fo I agree. I have no idea why they don't like Brian. Jealous of his size? lol
@@deeeeeeps I think they are very critical of Brian because they expect a lot from him. He's very strong, big and has been training for a year now but his movements and table iq don't match the time. This is mainly because of his coaching. Europeans work a lot of techniques first and then they get strong in the gym but Brian did mainly strength training and not much for the techniques that's why they seem to be very disappointed by Brian Shaw.
@@limo-swine6537 I'd agree his body movements aren't the best. But what he actually did in the match I thought was excellent. I also think they were told to keep their body's straight so they don't break something. So i think that might be part of it. Neither side was putting shoulder into it. So I think that explains why it was a bit awkward. Eddie was the one with the bad form holding on and Brian was just taking advantage of it like he was told to do.
@@deeeeeepsMy gut feeling is that Eddie wanted Brian to win. That's why Eddie chose to hold on instead of slipping. Eddie turned it into a game of machismo. He framed it this way: Slipping = weak. Going to the strap = weak. I think maybe he did it this way on purpose, because he knew that he stood a pretty good chance of beating Brian in the strap. Therefore he wanted to avoid the strap as much as possible, and allow his buddy to win.
It does not need to be technical to be fun to watch. It couldnt have been technical considering who it was. It was fun to watch becuase of their future.
Brian v. Eddie was the highlight of the event
Palko vs Meranto was my favorite match of the event. One of those matches that reminds me why i love the sport
There are always 2 guys in a story watching the main show and hanging out with a commentary. You two are that to me in this. You are THE guys chewing the fat of this tale. You damn Shakespearean armwrestlers! Love the commentary.
I really liked your analysis of these matches but try to make your students understand that there are different levels of strength and that if you don't reach them, the technique won't do anything unless you are at the same level of strength in all the vectors (rise, pronation, cup, back pressure, side pressure, hook). There are tables that determine your strength level based on the lift you do in these vectors, I'll give you an example of one vector : Side Pressure, well this is what the table below lists: Up to 22.67 kg the level is defined as Weak. Up to 29.48 kg the level is defined as Typical Amateur. Up to 36.28 kg the level is Pro. Up to 45.35 kg the level is Strong Pro. Up to 54.43 kg the level is Nationally. Up to 58.96 kg the level is Elite Nationally. Up to 63.50 Kg. the level is World Weight class. Higher than > 68.03 Kg. the level is World Open Class. Now in light of all this I believe that technique has its importance but I put it as a percentage of 30% the remaining 70% depends on the strength acquired in all the vectors mentioned above, in the case mentioned the (Side Pressure) if there is a substantial difference in terms of Kg. lifted it is clear that technique will never be able to make the difference and this also applies to all the other vectors.
I put it more 60% strength 40% technique. Some moves are built to beat other vectors. If someone is just straight strong in only just strength, a more technical puller could make a 3 zero no problem by beating the vector. I agree with all the rest. Just the technique can obliterate stre
ngth.
Maybe not best match but most interesting
Ye eddie vs brian was the best match it was so dam good an it looked like way more of a armwrestling match than i thought it would
My favorite part was 'we don't need a strap - we don't need a strap''. Sorry, but i was like 'yesss!'
Janice is being a technical ideologue here. Match of the night isn’t only about technical display, but is also about emotional engagement and Shaw versus Hall was hands down the match of the night.
I want to see more technicality and less emotion.
Eddie's mom joke was at astronomical levels
That's what I like the most about that matches they weren't trying to slip much to the strap they weren't trying to cheat when they were beaten already
Agreed 100
Was Brian and Eddie Match of the Night? Well, I only watched Brian and Eddie, and, had little interest in the others. I am sorry for that but tens of thousands of the first time fans think the same way, I’m sure. And, I loved the match. Now, I am anxious to see the professionals. If Brian or Eddie did not put on such a great show the sport loses a half million potential fans.
I'm a lifelong fan of both strongman and armwrestling. I see the potential new fans and I love it. I'm a fan of Brian Shaw and I love to see him catch the armwrestling bug. Armwrestling is a different type of feat of strength, but still easily among the best to watch. I hope that Brian can someday be on the short list of world's best pullers, but as of now his inexperience would get exploited. His armwrestling journey is only forward from here, as far as he takes it. And welcome to armwrestling. Good channel to land on. Ray and Janis are both great ambassadors of the sport. Janis is a bit of legend himself. ;)
Much more than half a million, especially over time. Id like to see how the pay per view faired with the other top showings in the past. I bet it's at least double.
Rabbit that just shows that people don't actually like on wrestling and it should not get big because you have to do BS to get attention
As someone else pointed out Janis apparently doesn't understand the concept of "match of the night" and by his own criteria. Match of the night was already decided before the event because part of his rational in stating brian vs eddie wasn't match of the night was because it wasnt as important to the rankings and it wasnt the most technically proficient. Lol neither of which make any sense whatsoever in deciding match of the night. Lol wtf.
Agree with Janis on match of night.
I'd give match of the night to Barbora and Gabi.
Awesome 🤘
Brian and Eddie match of the night, hell no, it was match of the century !
Sandris needs a kings move, he's been forced into hooks against shorter more connected guys, if he can force them to pull outside without wrist he could compromise them
You guys need to teach Brian to grab opponents hand and put him down. Raw power.
Strongmen was easily the match of that night. EASILY.
tobias vs alizhan would be a hell of a match
Not even close. Alizhan is gonna run through him with zero effort
@@OlegOlexiev whaat you really think so
@@misterprinc3858 I know how crazy good Matushenko is, to beat 115kg Ivan being 105 you have to be absolutely diabolical strong. Alizhan is something else...
Not even close
@@OlegOlexievIvan is a hook master and probably the only one to stop Alizhan's hits for that long. The fact that we barely see anyone even stopping Alizhan speaks volumes about the monster he is. Truly amazing athlete.
What a monster Rustam is.
The vast majority of viewers were only interested in the Eddie v Brian match. Was the most entertaining by far. Rest of the event was far too long and slow-paced to make it interesting for newcomers.
Jerry needs to develop a top roll
It sounds like Brian and Eddie did have some benefit as more eyes were on the sport. Personally as an arm wrestling fan, I thought it was a bit silly with way too much talking after the match. I also thought that it distracted from Levan and Jerry match.
They give arm wrestling more attention by just being there which is a good thing God forbid the arm wrestling gives attention back to them. I think it's a one time kinda thing, I would agree, it would be annoying If they do it every time though
Jocelyn Brisson is a super strong female arm wrestler. I could see her being a good match for Barbora.
I think she lost to sara bäckman, who lost to egle, who lost to barbora. I mean I like jocelyn, but there are other more suited female armwrestlers she could face before she gets barbora
She beat Sara B.
@@nickdowe4887 won on 1 arm lost on the other unless I am mistaken, which is totally possible. But i think it would be better to put her against egle before barbora anyhow 💪
03:21 Na there's only a couple people that i ALWAYS answer for. Wife , mom, and dad
Of course it was the match of the night.
Krasi vs Rustam? One more time
I don't think anyone can sleep from Brian except for maybe Eddie
No offence but you just don't get what Match of the Night means if you don't think that was Match of the night.
I was so upset for gabbi
To put it in perspective, I'm pretty sure neither of these two guys would have beaten Brian in a real match despite his lack of experience. I think Brian isn't that far off schoolboy, better in straps, but he probably wouldn't have been able to slip.
Yeah, but you're wrong.
@@halfbakedc00kieabout what part? Coach Ray most likely can't beat Brian.
These two would smoke shaw in a match
@@80-80. I agree. Weirdly my comment keeps disappearing.
Sorry mate Janis & Rollie would absolutely B A T T E R Brian or Eddie in a real Match. Trust me these two Latvian Boys can Pull.
go after the likes of Rhonda Rousey or even Cyborg
I really hope these clown matches will stop from big events. We are getting eyes in the sport who value random circus over professional athletes. Most people don't even know who the best wrestlers are, they just watch drama and circus. What will the next main event be? Brian vs random powerlifter or what? while laletin pulls mid event and "big audience" don't give af
Stick to watching WAF then, without these “clowns” there’s no progression for AW, it gets left behind.
Stick to watching WAF then, without these “clowns” there’s no progression for AW, it gets left behind.
Of course all eyes were on the match between the famous strongmen. However, I have to admit that I just didn't see the potential in Brian that Devon claims. Yes, he is strong, but we have seen Eddie take him apart in the strap, so it seems his hand can be nullified, at least at the moment.
Brian vs. Eddie was match of the night for sure and in my opinion it was match of the year!
I feel bad for the sad souls that paid for the PPV
The fact that Brian and Eddie went after the women title match left a bad taste in my mouth. It means that who held the event values spectacle over armwrestling. It was definitely a more entertaining and anticipated match but still
Janis stay being a hater, when you’ve been doing something for so long but not as popular as the new kids, jealousy tends to seep into the heart
The rest of the card was entertains but no where near the entertainment of the Eddie hall be Brian Shaw match, people will remember that match for ever but only the hard cores of arm wrestling will be aware of Janis
I don't really know what you mean he just tells you if it was a good match or not
Entertaining doesn't mean it's a good match
Janis is a multiple world champion, an absolute elite, just like Brzenk or Engin. The fact that some weekend armwrestling fans will not remember his name, it's not a lost.
Yeah I disagree with Janis all the way. Eddie Hall vs Brian Shaw was THE match of the night, no doubt about it. The only match that truly brought personality and excitement to an otherwise "ho-hum" night of armwrestling matches that weren't that exciting. But yes as far as professional importance, obviously the heavyweight men and women matches are most important. But Levan vs Jerry was boring, a no contest. And similar with Barbora and Gabby, they failed to entertain in that same way
Janis Condescending attitude and elitist mindset about technique in arm wrestling is always so annoying, most of Janis matches are boring to watch so that’s why he’s jealous some new comer had a much more entertaining match than most of Janis matches
I don't really know what you mean he just analyzes and tell you if what people did was stupid enough
interests and tastes are different. And that’s good. - Janis
@@voiceofarmwrestling he’s got me there 💪
Boring? Janis is a technician and has awesome matches and huge wins. But yeah he likes what he likes
janis matches are more watchable than larrats...very little to nonexistent complaining, no insults, no swearing , and no long ass matches because of the above
I think it was terrible. It was just a match of raw strength in a fashion that was a little bit like armwrestling. In an exciting match, they try to take maximum advantage and try differerent strategies; the only strategy in that one was brute force. It was boring, and I am not entirely sure it wasn't scripted.
First from Philippines
I think these little people have some insecurities about strength, Eddie vs Brian was the most unexpected war of the night you can't just underrate it because of their technique and inexperience 😄😍. When little guys have a war it's so boring because they are so weak.
Not that entertained watching amateurs. I watch sports to watch the best at the sport. Eddie trash talk was fun though.
So were you entertained by domination of Levan or flash pins by Rustam?
Your soy ah probably not entertained watching sports at all
@@AdamLighter1toos cherry pick when there are many more matches in the two you did is terrible
Janis taking himself too seriously here. Eddie n Brian where match of the night no doubts, they had it all, was it the most technically gifted match or even most significant within AW? No…..but it was still the match of the night, and tbf they looked liked Armwrestlers, limited maybe, ray waaaay too harsh on Brian lol
